I wouldn't say that every class is easy to master for first time players. What I'd suggest is you play a rogue if you like melee, a mage if you like spells and a hunter if undecided. I feel that with those classes you can get a basis VERY easily and quikcly into how the mechanics work. Once you hit level 10, feel free to create another character because classes like priests and warriors take a little background knowledge before being able to play them adequately. Although the knowledge does come in time with any class, its safe to assume that the hunter is a great starting class because you learn to: balance mana usage, use your pet to tank (gaining knowledge into how tanking works), healing yourself and your pet and evasive tactics.
I advice you to start the game with warrior. It is the most common class for beginner. First time i played with warlock. But later i ended the game, because it was very boring for me to stay away and watch your pat fighting. But it's my subjective opinion. You can choose any class if you can play.Madbutfreewarrior not the easiest at least not for me
Of course, all say that druid is the easiest class. Even Blizzard say, that druid is for review. But clever warrior will be always stronger than any other clever playerMadbutfree
This is such bull I'm actually considering banning this guy for heresy against the catholic church. This is complete falsety against life itself, Druid is NOT the easiest class to play and a clever warrior isn't the best class in the game. If a warrior were a smart warrior, he'd be able to thunder-clap hamstring, mortal strike wtfpwn your ass sure, but a warlock who's half inteligent can fear lock you and reapply DoTs...Intelligent players don't exist, if players were clever or intelligent they'd be in NASA advancing the human race into the stars, players use the same class builds as everyone else and use the same abilities as everyone else, the only mark of skill is from experience which is gained from playing ANY class not just a warrior. I've seen "clever" hunters beat "intelligent" warriors so where's the logic in saying warriors own all?
The easiest class to play is the hunter, but the easiest to learn is probably the warrior. That doesn't make them god classes, otherwise everyone would play them...which is what's happening with rogues.
Hunter. You don't really need to be by your keyboard if you spec right and autoattack.
Rogue. You can always escape, and choose all your fights basically. Not that many skills or things to learn either.
Warrior. I wouldn't go with warriors if I was a noob.
Mage. The best class overrall, the most fun class overrall. You'll get around the class, but it's not the easiest.
Paladin. Haven't played one enough to say anything.
Priest. It's a test of patience really to play a priest, especially in the beginning. You'll wanted in groups though. Shadow spec is awesome too.
Warlock. A really versatile class. A noob could choose this.
Don't remember the wotlk class name, also haven't plated wow in years.
Paladins and especially hunters, are the easiest classes to level in the game... but its really up to you.
My first character was a shaman... fun class, really flashy too.. heh
Warriors are fun, but can be extremely difficult and frustrating when you start learning to tank(if you don't go rage). Peeps never watch their threat and then when they get hit they run AWAY from you and cry when they die and everything is always your fault. Eventually when you get better and find better players it's awesome to go through a instance with a good group and just watch the magic happen.
The warlock was my first toon and I took him up to 54(I don't have the patience to go beyond this) and he was a blast! I was able to solo alot of areas that others couldn't and PVP rocked! And I also like the dark aspect of the lock. But be prepared to die often as it only takes a few hits from the heavies to knock you down. But for pure DPS Iloved him. I was always at the top of the damage charts! Get in a fight with a mob,DOT every damn thing in sight and left the tanks do their thing.
The Mage was a blast too! Great spells, make your own food and water, minor crowd control and just fun class to play. But you squish really easy!
The Priest is one of the more difficult clases to play as you have to have a cool head and an eye for detail and PATIENCE! You have to watch your mana and know where to lay those heals on the most effective character. If the tank and the mage are both about to drop, heal that tank and rez the mage cuz if that tank drops who are they coming for next? I have found it really hard to level my priest as I love to solo and play BG's(battlegrounds) It's hard to get a decent group going as I can't play for hours on end. But it is extremely satisfying to be able to take care of the group in tough battles and have everyone thanking you for laying down great heals.
The rogue I have only leveled to 12 and have no experience on, but seems real fun
I have not nor will I ever play a hunter!
The Paladin I have only leveled to 19 but have had a blast with him! Nothing like a hard hitter that can heal himself
The shaman, I have never played
The druid I have played to level 19 and really had a good time with him.
There is no better class than the other as it all depends on how you want to play. If you are going to be playing with each other all the time, choose 2 classes that compliment each other. Have soemone who can take the heat of the softer classe by pets or tanking and have some heals available. And make sure to give most of the classes a try. As another poster stated level them to around 10 and then start fleshing them out and see what you like.
I find it funny No one mentioned shaman. that was my first WoW class and I was able to get really far with it.
I would suggest for you to start out as a hunter. You will learn about the 3 main roles of the game. DPS, HEALING and TANKING. It will teach you about aggro and how aggro works. I would not suggest you be a warrior. People will ask you to tank and if your not familiar with aggro YOU WILL DIE lol. So I would go with hunter and if you dont like it by lvl 20 you can choose something else.
First, there is no "best" class. Some have slightly larger learning curves, but theyre all easy to master quickly. With that said, here is my biased rundown of each class.
Warrior: tank or dps, it does both quite well. Warriors are, imo, fairly challenging initially but once you get up there its just a good, simple, base class.
Rogue: stealthy master of dps. Can hide, stun, poison, and kill enemies quickly. Excels at PvP.
Hunter: ranged dps class. Hunters get a pet, which essentially means you get your own personal tank (any beast in the world almost). Hunters are easy and quick to level, fun, but are looked down upon by the community. Dont let that stop you though.
Warlock: a caster that uses curse, fire, and shadow damage. Warlocks, like hunters, get pets but are somewhat limited in their choices (theyre cool pets, but you only get like 5 selections). In my opinion, the second-easiest class to level.
Druid: druids are interesting. I didnt liek them, but they are a really good class. Druids can be feral (bear, which is like a warrior, or cat, which is like a rogue), dps using spells (nature damage mostly), or can heal. They make really good healers. Druids are pretty "slow" (i.e. dull) for the first 20 or so levels.
Priests: priests are tricky because they tend to level slower, but they are a lot of fun. My main is a priest, and she was always needed for dungeons to heal so that was nice. Its also fun playing a utility class (tank or healer) because you are a critical part of a group; DPS classes are a dime a dozen, but a good healer is rare.
Shamans: shamans are pretty damn fun, and the lore is great. They use the earth elements to hurt and help people, and can sumon totems which buff you and your friends or attack enemies. They have three roles; ranged dps (lightning and fire spells), melee dps, and heals.
I think thats all of em. Go do some research on your own, check out the talents, and read the forums. recommend thottbot
*oh ya I forgot paladin. Paladins are a lot of fun and, imo, make the best tanks. But as someone said earlier you need to learn the mechanics of aggro to tank. Paladins make good healers and can be excellent at dps. They also have auras and buffs that are welcome in parties. Theyre a pretty easy, extremely fun class and there is little downtime as you can heal yourself.
Here is my opinion of some good classes to start with in WoW:
1. The male human paladin- a good class to start with because you can make a cool name like AartharsX and be deathknight later. You have an awesome ability to become invincible so new players will have an easier time fighting really strong monsters like murlocs and hogger. However this class is not good in late game raiding, because other players don't like you since you have 95% chance to wipe the group in dungeons like Blackrock Spire.
2. The nightelf female- this class has a racial ability that allows it to excel at dancing on mailboxes. This ability is useful because lots of the time your new character starts with 0 gold, if you charge people gold to watch you dance you can accumulate large amounts of wealth which helps early in the game. The class also has a in-built ability allowing it to receive 200% more free items from other people, especially if you use the flirt emote and talk girly on teamspeak, the majority of the WoW community does not know of this hidden ability.
3. The dr00d- choose the dr00d if you want to become a bird or a tree. dr00d has the most powerful spells of all classes because they can shoot laser beams as a chicken. dr00ds are also well known for singing and rapping good songs by soulja boy. The bad thing about dr00ds is that its hard to play so you must read the guides by Alamo.
4. The gnome warrior- gnomes are the best for pvp because their size allows them to hit opponents below the knee at the archilles' heel to deal extra damage. You can also hide behind fat characters like dranei and make annoying combat sounds. Just make sure to choose pink hair or funny beards because it displays to others that you know pvp is serious business.

Both are easy to learn and powerful.
from my experience they are all good for a new player, in that they are all easy and tricky in their own ways. I personally found the ranged attack classes easier when I started because I did lots of FPS beforehand, but that was just me.
My advice is to look at what each of them does and then pick the one that makes you go "oooooh, snacky!" the most. And if you find you hate it after a couple of sessions then just make a new character and see how that works out :-)
Hunter: Easiest class to level, the only mana-using class I've enjoyed, pretty easy to play. Probably your best bet as a new player
Warlock: Second easiest to level, what my first character was. awesome DPS
Mage: able to cause some of the most damage in the game, pretty simple to play
Shaman: Really, really good class. can heal fairly well, and can do alot of damage
Druid: Can be pretty much every class. Bear form to become a Warrior, Cat form to be a Rogue, Tree of Life to Heal
Rogue: Alot of people play Rogues because they're great in PVP, and they're fun. Can cause some of the most damage in the game if used correctly
Warrior: The hardest class to level, so few people play them. instead of making them more appealing, Blizzard has instead opted to make Paladins better tanks. Despite this, a well-geared Warrior who knows what he's doing is still the best tank, though this is a rarity and takes alot of time and effort. Most Warriors just go Fury or Arms and DPS.
Paladin: Apparently Blizzard's favorite class right now, as they seem to get better with every patch. They wear the best armor in the game (Plate), can heal themselves (or just make themselves invincible for a short time), and they pack a pretty good punch damage-wise. This has led to an abundance of Paladins who have no idea what they're doing.
Priest: Healers. They can do other things, but all anyone wants them for is healing. You'll never spend more than a few minutes in looking for group, but you'll probably constantly be pestered by people who need a healer for their group. You'll also get blamed when everyone dies, whether it was your fault or not.

Mediocre_man90
Yeah this part is the most annoying, I would recommend staying away from priest as your first class.
