Im not sure if it is what you need exactly, but have you seen the Black Magic Design Intensity Pro?

It captures HD via direct HDMI or component S-video.

But it is quite expensive.

For 'true HD', as you may be aware, you will need a gargantuan amount of hard drive space. But if the source is just TiVO,as opposed to a HD camcorder, then you probably wont encounter that need.

Some of the brands of the cheaper ones are Leadtek, Pinnacle, Kworld and Aver TV, and a few others.

BUT, if you have a decent PC that is well looked after, you should just be able to use a program like FRAPS to capture.

The main thing you would need the card for, is if you dont have the inputs (duch as firewire or hdmi) on your motherboard.

I would suggest looking at reviews for budget cards from brands to see which card has the best input type for retaining quality, and then just buy a program like FRAPS for the capture.

I cant give any recomendations myself sorry, Im just sharing what little information i know which i gathered whilst looking into such a thing myself (but for a camcorder). i ended up just using motherboards firewire (IEEE1394) port and my TMPGEnc DVD authoring software which has a feature to capture video.

I would also suggest perhaps asking at a TiVO related forum (i dont know of any), as their will likely be more experienced ppl there, who can give you more sound advice.
