I am currently using an older IPS at 60hz, it looks incredible and in cinematic games I wouldn't want to use anything else, but I have got into FPS's far more recently. I am finding the experience a little jarring which I thought I wouldn't (I convinced myself 60FPS was more than enough as to get a beautiful looking IPS) and I am looking for an alternate monitor to use that is higher Hz with low refresh rate and input lag etc.

I am not sure about the pros and cons of TN against VA so a crash course and some of the more popular choices in that price range (bearing in mind that is pound sterling not dollars) would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I apologise if this is in the wrong place, forum has changed quite a bit since I last visited and this seemed the best fitting section.

VA tends to suffer from ghosting.

The Acer XG27 is a 27" 1440p 144Hz TN panel and is EXCELLENT for the price. Its £299... If you want a 1080p 144Hz panel the Benq XL2411 is a great option at £299.

Most definitely get something with gsync (if you have nvidia) or freesync (if you have a amd).
