O.K. as far as RTS on my other post, I went ahead and ordered WiC on newegg. So now I am looking for a TBS, maybe Gal. Civ. II, Heroes might and magic, Kings Bounty, etc. Oh yeah, I already have Civ 4. And I dont care for multiplayer

Silent Storm (Gold version) - also my favorite game of all time

King's Bounty is very good - limited replayability but the 1st time through is very satisfying

(Note: Saw your other thread. You really should get Dawn of War 1 at some point - it's one of the best RTS' ever. WiC is better for multiplayer, but I own it too - haven't been able to get into it much though. Dawn of War 2 is not an RTS)

oh, by the way, Total War games, if you haven't played them, will satisfy both an RTS and TBS itch. I recommend Medieval 2: Total War.

Galactic Civilizations 2 is my favorite. HoMM V is also pretty good gameplay wise and get it if you want to play the multiplayer (Official SP campaign part is pretty lacklustre )

sins of a solar empire

sword of the stars

dawn of nwar 1 is a purebred rts in all its minor rule breaking ways but imo is much more polished in DoW2 without being as tied down to the whole massive armies, cluttered bases, and resources things. and though its SP is more of a tactical rpg its multiplayer is same as it always was. those who complain just hate having tiny armies of proper supersoldiers vs huge aries of not.. so super ones. like seriously dawn of war 2's units can have massive lifespans whereas dawn of war 1 can have lifespans in second to minutes with stupid squad caps and rediculous amounts of over the top and overnumbered weapons.

in short dawn of war 1: warhammer 40k for those afraid of a tabletop)

dow2: those who like the tabletop but fear rts's.

Those are Real Time Strategy games. He's looking for Turn-based Strategy. Anyway, Galactic Civilizations 2 is the best I've played. If you decide to get it, you'll be playing it for a very long time.

Kings's Bounty: The Legend, Civilization IV and Heroes of Might and Magic V (not so good like the old ones, but still very fun).

For this year I think Disciples III will be the best.

And Civ IV and it's expansions..... still possibly the best TBS game ever IMO !
