Hey I've recently uncovered a stash of my old games that i want to try on my new laptop which runs Vista. I'm particularly having trouble with Grim Fandango. The game runs fine for a while but then it gets really really choppy. I've run it in windows 95 mode and that seems to help but it still slows down after maybe 10 minutes of play. Does anyone know how to optomize old games like this for Vista?

Thanks

Pray to god....

Actually, the only solution that will certainly work is to create a second partition on your hard disk and install a previous edition of Windows on it, preferably Windows XP. That way, you can play the new games on Vista and the old on Xp,the only problem being you have to restart everytime you want to switch. Also, it would be good if you had a large HDD

Go to a thrift store or ebay. Buy a Pentium 2. Install Windows 98. Enjoy.

Unfortunitly this is the best way to play older games. I did get Vista and Win 98SE installed on the same computer and working, but it was a hastle and not worth the effort.
