Is it a good game? Have all the bugs been fixed? How hard is it to get into?!

Very good game. Still broken. Easy to get into if you like TBSs and long tactical battles.

After buying it when it came out, I played it for a month and stopped playing in disgust. It was nowhere as good as Medieval II. Graphics and sounds were great, but the enemy AI drove you insane. I recently played it again (patch 1.5 i think now) and it was much better. It's still a tough game to get into but it's pretty damn rewarding once your in.

This. Broken as in still crashes, still has bugs, and the AI is still dumb (although not as dumb as before the pathes). What's odd is that I find the documentation, the panels that describe your buildings, units and technologies, the best part of the game... It's a lovely encyclopedia of the 18th century.

Except for the sometimes dumb AI, I've never had a problem with the game and I've been playing it since launch.

fantastic game, really easy to get into through the road to independance intro campaign which eases you in slowly, still a couple of little glitches like the opposition enemy army turning invisible very occasionally and some, again occasional, wacky behaviour when your troops get into an enemy fort. i highly recommend

Havent really played since I bought it. Very crappy optimization and even with my good rig I still have problems. Probably just Windows 7 but they better be trying to fix it all. Its really sad. I want to play it but still waiting for that game saving patch. I was tempted to buy up all the DLC just for the heck of it but right now Im holding off for a sale or for when its worth buying to enhance the game. You know? It really sucks.

It's still a fairly good game, but CA is letting so many bugs through the patching process that it just becomes frustrating to play sometimes. They also the left the BAI broken and the campaign AI is unrealistically aggressive towards the player. In one campaign I had, the british and the french teamed up against me and I was hardly a threat to either of them.
