QW(Quake World) on Aerowalk. Simply the fastest stock gameply there is. It gets to a point where it has to be so ingraved in your head on what ur doing, you dont react as it happens, your reacting long before your enemy even makes his move. (Watch some top teir players playing this map, will give you a idea of what i mean).
Then there is Q3 CPM movement which is fast, but its a mod movement. So cant truly count it. But still second fastest compared to QW. Its also a highly skill fast paced game that just about 90% of players wont make it to a top teir becuase its that tough.
3rd Id have to say Painkiller, most of the maps were small and very fast paced. While the movement was easy enough to pick up(considering you came from quake). Fun to play, frustrating for most though. =\
4th is Q4 based on the 1.4.2 patch and sliding. Movement and pace of game got so fast it sorta ruined a lot of the fun. No not becuase I couldnt handle it. But simply becuase it took the skill out of working the map right, and allowed the player to just rush, rush, which isnt much skill IMHO. Plus the maps were made for slower movement so it losts its overall balance. Still it is upon the fastest paced games around, and fun to play if you can keep up with the pace.
Then you have Q3 VQ3, stock 125fps or fixed CPMA movement. It can be a bit slow sorta, but its still a top level fast paced game. That requires a lot of brain, map knowledge, know how to predict your enemy, and ofcourse aim.
Then Q2, not as fast as the other quakes, but still fast and requires a lot of skill. But i havent really played it, so I wont comment further.
Warsow is fast, but with the new patch i completely lost interest in it, and dont consider it a game anymore. I still have respect for those who are playing it though. (sure it ranks high on the fast paced list)
UT is fast, but has nothing on CPM, QW, PK, and Q4 1.4.2. Give props to the players for the skill they have. But I know many many UT players that switched to quake and cant keep up with its pace at the begining. So just from that I draw the simple conclusion its not that fast. Ive also played it, and ill agree its fast, but simply just not fast enough.
Last but not least to add is that these games even UT cant be considered all twitch. The amount of skill and time that is required to shoot accurately and react as fast as top teir players do is something that is never truly based on brainless, skill less shooting. So please, learn more about fast paced games before you say its just twitch.
