here is a NEW pre built system, comparable to yours, though yours has a monitor and it doesnt
maybe 300-400$ used, and maybe 200$ worth of time and effort spent trying to sell it for a grand total money making of 100-200$ .. id suggest just giving to to some sort of charity, a church, community centre, etc
While $400 is great for a used PC, This one is actually new except for the GPU and the CPU.
Adding new ones will make it good as new. The hdd and OS have never been used, and neither has the PSU. The case is new and the DVD burner is also. RAM is new and I'll be adding a new Monitor and keyboard and mouse and speakers.
To be honest that PC isn't really comparable, the TC's has a graphics card that is many times more powerful.. But he could sell it for $400, and how in the world would he use $200 trying to sell it, put it on craigslist for free, done.here is a NEW pre built system, comparable to yours, though yours has a monitor and it doesnt

generally im correct, and the time it takes to figure out price, deal with potential buyers, etc, its a lot of effort
and both pc's have their better and worse attributes, but their generally the same.
Keep it and just sell it to someone locally who wants a PC, maybe someone who doesn't own a PC but wants one or put it on ebay and toss in a couple of games as a entry level gaming machine they are pretty well sought after so advertise it as a gaming machine and it'll play most games on high settings and someone will want it.

How is that being deceptive? The 460 can definitely max recent games, especially at 1440x900. Also I agree with the LED thing. If the case doesn't have any, buy a couple LED fans, throw in a game, and raise it to $500 :D[QUOTE="chertoo"][QUOTE="JohnF111"]

What are you talking about? That CPU will play the majority of games with no issues. Sure, it's not ideal... but it's no slouch.
$430 to $475 without the monitor, add on about 60-70 bucks if sold with the screen.
hartsickdiscipl
i doubt he would get that for it, in a realistic used desktop pc market, but never hurts to try i guess
but saying itll run modern games on high with no problem isnt accurate, on low MAYBE .. depending on resolution

Why exactly do you think a PC with a quad core and GTX 460 will only run games on low? Don't worry, he's just another internet fool who thinks that they know everything.that has a terrible gpu though. How much he can get really depends on how much the buyer knows. if they know little about computers and go into a computer store and see how much a system with a decent gpu costs you could probably rip them off.here is a NEW pre built system, comparable to yours, though yours has a monitor and it doesnt

Why exactly do you think a PC with a quad core and GTX 460 will only run games on low?if you think a 50$ cpu can run crysis 2 and cod:mw3 on med or top setting and also will not bottleneck the rest of the pc then so be it lol, all good, just speaking reality, all i can do.
250-300$ on craigslist would be the best ideaIXSH0CKW4VEIX
ah a rational realist, welcome to the thread :)
might be a fairly nice pc, excluding the cpu, but a used craigslist pc will only get 1/3 or 2/3 a new retail price
hopefully thread creator lets us know how it all goes down :)

A "$50 CPU?" I don't see a $50 CPU in his build.. More like an 80 to 90 dollar one. Besides, it's an Athlon II quad-core, and they're damn good performers for the money. I guarantee that he can max out the detail settings in 90% of the games that have come out in the past 3 years up to about 1080p with that PC.

I have an athlon 640, sure it is a bit faster, but i think i am better qualified than you to say how his CPU would perform in games.[QUOTE="JohnF111"]

A computer that can max almost every game that comes installed with 8gb of ram, a quad core processor and a $150-$170 video card seems more than entry level to me (where do you get your computer knowledge ?) Every post in this thread by you has been pretty much a lie ($200 worth of effort, $50 cpu, give it to charity, calling it deceptive to advertise it as entry level, calling the cpu a bottleneck and that it will run games on low.....) Not trying to be mean but please think before you postWhy exactly do you think a PC with a quad core and GTX 460 will only run games on low?[QUOTE="ferret-gamer"][QUOTE="chertoo"]

Yeah, that wasn't the answer I was looking for either. :/ I believe he is thining of either BLOPS or MW2 as MW3. MW2 will run on max with that processor with extreme ease. BLOPS is just poorly optimized and manages to use neither the CPU or GPU to any decent amount. There are games that will be bottlenecked by an athlon quad, i have one, but the games that get bottlenecked are far and few between.

First of all you're completely wrong about an Athlon II X4 bottlenecking a gaming rig with a GTX 460 by any really significant amount in most games. The fact is that this type of CPU can run the vast majority of games maxed out with little to no problem. Secondly, there is no Modern Warfare 3 yet. I'm not sure that you should open your mouth about anything else PC hardware/software related for awhile.

probably just have a different standard of game playability on max settings, especially for cpu intensive games, all good doesnt matter.

So your opinion is greater than every single benchmark out there plus testimonys from forum users who actually own a near identical system, same cpu, or gpu? and a cpu bottlenecking a game thats not only a console port but more optimized than its 4 year old prequel in which every single benchmark would show the TC system running it great ?
