nVidia FX5200. Made games crash on my old HP (Bought it because I thought it would be an improvement over a radeon 9200...which it wasn't...I was naive back then ;)) I haven't used it at all...50 bucks down the drain =/

I've been happy with all my cards. Only one that was a slight letdown was a agp 6800GS OC from BFG, because it didn't unlock the 4 extra pipes, only the shader, even though it seemed most people on the forums got it to just fine, and it didn't oc very much over the factory oc. That isn't gauranteed though so I can't complain too much, just won't ever buy a pre-oc'd card again, don't know why I decided to that time, such a waste.

It was like the worst card ever. Better than the previous Rage 128, but still, yeah, it hurt a lot.

lol yeah I know the feeling. When my 9700pro died, I was totally broke so I had to steal my parents FX5200 out of their pc when they weren't using it for a couple months. Sucked some major balls.

I didn't exactly run out to buy that card, it was in a Dell, and it looked good at a time. And it was! For all of the 5 minutes I spent with the Dell.

Didn't purchase it...but I was given an MX440 while I was transitioning between cards. I OC'ed that thing like none other....more than doubling the clock speed.

just kidding. It was the radeon x300, though it came with the dell computer I bought, with all intent and purpose to change it as soon as I got the system. Why oh why can't we order a video cardless system?!?! oh well.

I never bought a video card that I truly felt bad about, but I guess my most underwhelming purchase was probably an ATI Xpert XL 4MB PCI video card from before the turn of the century.  Even worse was the fact that not long after my purchase, another store had a Creative Labs 3dfx Voodoo Banshee on sale for about the same price as I paid for my ATI card and that really had me going at the time!  I was short of $$$ in those days and really couldn't do much about it at the time.  Too bad I didn't have a crystal ball!

an intel integrated (insert lots of numbers here) card/chip that came with my old Dell 2400. Got it in 2003 and it ran battlefeild 1942 at like 5 FPS (it was really easy to snipe people, lots of time to aim:D)

You are honestly the first person Ive read about that does not like their 8800GT, there are no random FPS drops, reviews from all over the world love this card, it's your own system's problem.

lol the 8800 series.  So if its a driver problem, then how is it the cards fault?  That is nVidias fault.  Also its a brand new  card with technology in it that isnt used in games yet (SM4.0 and onboard Phsyics and Dx10).  Give the card sometime.  Have some patience.

Hes not, it does drop in games.  But its a brand new card too, yes months old, but ylou have to let nVidia and M$ catch up to eachother.  I like how people expect things to come with no problems.  I think thats a fantasy world they live in.  I get random drops in CSS, but thats the only game for me, plus models look grey from super far away.

Diamond Monster 3D II 3DFX Voodoo2 8MB PCI;

It would overheat after about 1 hour of playing.

The worst part was when I first bought it there were no 3d games, by the time some good games were released and I started using it (and relized it had a problem), it was too late to return.

Uh i'm not sure. The ones ive owned are:

  • 1MB Onboard VRAM (1997-1998 )
  • 8MB Onboard VRAM (1998-1999)
  • Diamond Stealth II S220, PCI, ?MB (1999-2001)
  • Nvidia GeForce 2 MX400, AGP, 64MB (2001-2003)
  • Nvidia GeForce Fx5600 AGP, 128MB (2003-2005)
  • Nvidia GeForce 6600, AGP, 256MB (2005- )
The GeForce 2 is the only one that ever broke, but the Fx5600 was just not that great of a card for the time it was out so...

Every GPU I've purchased has always been a major upgrade, so I wouldn't be able to compare with previous cards as I've only purchased the GeForce 7100GS + Radeon X1300 + 8800GTS (640MB). -- I've always upgraded from graphics intergrated into the mother-board.

ATI 9550 256mb. The mhz so low its not even funny.:?Axecident

I have the very same card in my media PC.  Its great for video.  I have dual monitors on it, a CRT and a TV and it works beautifully for video.  I have never tried to play games on it though, I bought it purely for video and its great for that.

The other video cards I have bought was an old Voodoo 3, GeForce 3 Ti 200, FX5950 Ultra, and 6900GT.

I'm another Fx5200 victim here aswell! :D

Although, it was a big step up from a Radeon 7000, and I got the ultra edition from one of my friends for £15, so I can't complain. But by the end of its life the fan on it was the noisiest thing in the computer by far, I had to underclock it to stop it overheating, and even then it would crash on vista because it was in 3D mode all the time :S

Shadow_Chicken

9550 and Fx5500OC PCI not PCI-E !! So i guess im a victim aswell. but i got them from wal-mart and i OCed them and then returned them for all of my money back because the manager was dumb! :)
