Almost forgot, Company of Heroes: Online is probably the most fully-featured free game i've ever seen.

Its basically Company of Heroes but with more flushed-out online play (leveling, unlocks and upgrades) as well as the full campaign and ability to play skirmishes against the A.I.

I would go with League of legends. It's fun, varied, well made, etc.

I'll go with Cave Story, I just love that game!!
