Guess which one mine is. :)

So, now that you know my GOTY pick. What's yours?

[QUOTE="broken_bass_bin"]Awesome pick. (Portal 2) :D I figured someone would mention TW2. I felt almost disappointed in some ways. I guess I prefer the dark atmosphere of the first.Portal 2.
With The Witcher 2 snapping at its heels.
Elann2008
I agree the darker atmosphere of the first one was better, but I think pretty much every other aspect of TW2 is an improvement on the first. Which is saying something, because there wasn't much about TW1 I didn't love.
I'm also tempted to go out today and pick up Deus Ex, so there could be another one to add to my list :D
dragon age 2 hands down, perfect game, imho /sarcasm
for me witcher 2, but im just starting deus ex so it might change in the next few hours :P
Deus Ex: HR for me. I just got Deus Ex: HR last night and am loving every minute of it so far. They did a great job on the PC version in my opinion.
Shogun 2 for me. Bought it on launch and spent countless hours already, and haven;t even touched the multiplayer yet.
Shogun 2, after the DX 11 patch it is one of the most perfect games I know of
Deus Ex and Witcher 2 right behind (6 hours into DE:HR so that may change)
- The Witcher2 = Amazing rpg with great graphics, story and combat.
- Total War Shogun2 = Have played 100+ hours on this game already, up there with Dawn of Discovery for my favorite strategy game this gen, the Total War series is back people!
- Deus Ex: HR = I never thought that we would get another Deus Ex game that was like the first one but HR really surprised me, fantastic game
I honestly cant pick atm between those three, all are fantastic game and its going to be hard for other games to beat what these 3 have done for the rest of htis year.
Portal2 was good, Terraria I really like also, Bastion and Avadon are good to and I also liked Brink but those three games above are in a league of there own.
I really could make a case for each of those 3 games I listed above for GOTY so far, will have to wait till the end of the year to fully decide though.
Great picks, Kozz. :) Yeah, it has been a wonderful year so far in gaming. Not to mention all the amazing indie games. My favorite indies are SPAZ, and Avadon? (is it indie? too lazy to google lol). The Witcher 2 although at the heels of my Deus Ex HR, :) just wasn't as memorable for me as the original. Most importantly though, I think 2011 offered such a variety of games in different genres and categories so that everyone had a nice slice of the pie, sorta speak. You have a WRPG in one hand, a bag of indie games in the other, strategy game in one. And there's more to come! It's like the year started with a huge bang and then there's a creepy guy standing in the dark corner that says: "It's just getting started."- The Witcher2 = Amazing rpg with great graphics, story and combat.

Id have to say Portal 2. But I have a feeling that Skyrim is going to be :P SLUSHiNaToRI'm kinda glad Skyrim is coming out in November. It'll give me ample time to go through most of my semester and finish strong. I'll probably pick it up day one and practice self-control. That game is going to warp me.
[QUOTE="flipin_jackass"]I don't think I bought a single game released this year T_T... unless you count DLCs.Elann2008Seriously? :( Why haven't you purchased a single release? Trying to remain focus in school or something? (serious question) No I'm done school. Family, work, renovating the house. Even then, I still make time for games. I was good this year and didn't purchase a lot... trying to wilt down that backlog you know.. :P

Man.. then in 2012, your backlog is going to be killer... because 2011 has AMAZING games. :D
It doesn't need to be released to be my GotY: Disgaea 3. But to keep it PC (since it's the PC board), it's rathe rhard, I guess I go with Age of Empires Online
I have to be honest, I'm surprised with all the mentions of the witcher 2 and portal 2. I thought both were sort of disappointing. I thought the witcher had a really weak second half and I wasn't all that into the combat, and portal 2 seemed like they tried to force the charm in.
