Honestly, more than anything, I'd like more shooters. Yes, I know the PC already dominates shooters, but more and more of them are getting to be console multiplats and ports, which is not good. I don't necessarily think the PC needs more exclusive shooters, but the multiplat ones really need to get back to taking advantage of the PC when they can, and actually change some things to make the PC games what they should be. The tunnel vision FOV in Crysis 2 is a perfect example. Console shooters are designed like that because it looks better when you're sitting across the room from your screen, but the PC version should have had at least 20 degrees more FOV, or just an option to change it to your preference. The default FOV in Skyrim has the same problem, but at least you can change that with the console commands. I just never really get tired of shooters, so long as there's something fresh in them. That's why I loved HL2, and FEAR, and Bioshock, and Crysis. Other problems with the multiplats is just the controls. PC shooters used to take advantage of the fact that you had more than 12 buttons and a couple analog sticks to work with. Now they just design the game for an Xbox controller, then shovel all the buttons into the WASD area of the keyboard and call it good. Again, Crysis is a perfect example. The first one was unique and engaging masterpiece, with a genius control scheme for the nanosuit and weapon customization. Crysis 2, on the other hand... completely watered down and simplified controls because they designed it for consoles from the beginning. Which is also why Crysis 2 launched on all platforms simultaneously, while the console versions of Crysis didn't come out until after Crysis 2, and had changes to the UI, directly inspired by Crysis 2.
And, multiplat issues aside, I want more open world styled shooters. Like Crysis (1, not 2), and Far Cry.
I agree with more shooters, hoping crysis 3 turns out to be pretty good

I'm really looking forward to Crysis 3. Early indications seem to show that they're going for a halfway point, stylistically, between Crysis and Crysis 2, which could be awesome as hell, if done correctly. I certainly didn't dislike Crysis 2. Actually, I totally love it, and still play the hell out of it, after beating it twice. It's just a completely different style game from Crysis (at least the first half of Crysis).

yeah, halfway point would be great, bringing back the sandbox feel which is awesome, and that bow.. looks super cool, can't wait to see more of ityeah, halfway point would be great, bringing back the sandbox feel which is awesome, and that bow.. looks super cool, can't wait to see more of itWhatcurb
I'm pretty stoked on it. All signs point to that halfway mark. I read somewhere that they were talking about having more open levels again, and side missions, like Crysis 1, and that they are splitting the "Power" function of the nanosuit back into separate "Strength" and "speed" like Crysis. Even the setting and art direction seems to be a deliberate halfway point. Crysis = Jungle. Crysis 2 = New York City. Crysis 3 = Jungle in New York City. I like where this is going.
All of them every single multiplatform game for ps3 and 360 as well as more japanease indie pc games like reccetear being translated to english that would be a huge boast to the pc game library.
proper Flight sims like in the good olds days of MS FS. Oh yes Wingcommander type games like post above me said. Believe it or not that space sims use to be the games be for FPS games.
More first person stealth games, more RTS games with base-building and resource management, and more third-person action/adventures.
I consider myself a console gamer first because these are my favorite genres but I was wondering about everyone else on this forum.Kell_the_Gamer
MS Flight Simulator X with guns aka Combat Flight Simulator 4. It's been a while since CFS 3 was released. Need a new one, bad.

I am so tired of shooters that i almost puke everytime i hear about a new Call of duty or any other game in that genre, so it would be nice if we would get some more games like LA Noire/Heavy Rain, some more Tycoon games like Railroad tycoon, Theme Park Rollercoaster and so.
And of course more games in the "Larry/police/Kings quest style"
id love some more exclusive shooters...i love arma, but it needs some competition to help keep it from being buggy when released...and stalker w/mods is honestly one of my favorite experiences to date on pc
I really want to see games have great stories that are actually engaging whether they are first person, third person, point and click or whatever. I seriously think creativity is lacking in today's games and they just focus on the generic mute protagonist and a 5 hour story with a tacked on multiplayer component.
What kinds of games would you like to see more of on PC?
The kind of games that are meant and made for PC gamers ... alas, at the moment the only thing devs know is console this and console that and from time to time they come up with the brilliant idea "hey, why not port it over for PC as it is at the moment ?" ... which I do NOT consider a PC game. Crysis, Witcher, Quake, Unreal Tournament, Battlefield ... it's games like that that the PC community needs. Of course this is just my opinion on the topic ... who cares about that anyways ? Other people over the internet ? Developers ? F*ck no ...
Stealth for sure. You can pretty much name all the good stealth games ever made on one hand (sort of) which is depressing. Splinter Cell has officially been ruined and Hitman: Absolution isn't looking too good so far. It's great that Deus Ex: HR had stealth mechanics though and I'm sure Thief 4 will be great (I hope so at least).
I'd love to see some high end FPS games like they used to make. It seems nowadays there isn't a developer that just focuses on the FPS genre of PC games & utalizes the graphical power that modern PCs have. Companies find it more profitable to create games for 4 year old console hardware & then port over to the PC.
I'd also like to see more single player RPG games. I do enjoy the MMORPG stuff but I love games like Skyrim, Fallout, Dragon Age, KOTOR, Mass Effect. Maybe it's just me but I find games like those where you immerse yourself into stoyrlines & character customization are just few and far between. You play one, & then have to wait forever for another one to come along, unlike FPS games which seem to grow on trees.
You'd love Zeno Clash. Everything in that game screams bizzare, but that's part of what's so good about it. it's a first person beat 'em up.Action Adventure/Beat em Up/Hack N Slash
So far most of them we get are MMOs.

Good responses, so far. I like different genres of games. Recent games that I enjoyed were Dead Space 1 and 2 (very atmospheric fames) and Mass Effect 1 and 2 (cool storylines). I also likes Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. My favourite types of games, however, are multiplayer shooters like MW2. I want to see high-quality shooters, not necessarily FPS, with strong communities so that there is longevity and competitiveness.

Pretty much this. Can't get enough of it. "Better" zombie games too. Too many crappy ones, not enough great ones. In my own little perfect world, I'd love to see JRPG's. I once grew tired of them because developers kept milking the genre and killing it.. but it's in need of a serious revival - at least on the consoles if not PC.
Edit: It's a long-shot but I'd love for Platinum Games to start porting their games. Bayonetta, Vanquish, all of those would have turned a profit on the PC. Crazy Japanese Devs!
We badly need RTS games. How many great ones have come out since Starcraft 2? Maybe Dawn of War 2, but not much else. I miss the 90's years of RTS releases.
Open world rpg fps's. Preferably done better tha fallout 3. Something like stalker but more rpg elements.
I want a western pokemon game where you control the pokemon themselves with non-turn based combat. Like demons souls... but pokemon.. Get nostalgia and a solid third person rpg.

I agree here... The 90's to the early '00's saw a great many very good RTS as well as TBS games being developed. I would definitly like to see that trend again.
But mostly I'd like to see a return of MECH games such as the Mechwarrior series from MS Studios with great single player and multi player options.

remake of battlezone (1998)....really HOPE So!!!!!!!!!!!!...........is a very special game with mix of RTS + FPS......

Everything epic came out of the 90's and early 2000. Around the time Halo came out, everything went downhill since.Id like to see more games with Mount&Blade style combat mechanics.

Absolutely these. I'd also say the sort of games we see with Nintendo first party but that's what the Dolphin emulator is for(not to mention the games can run at 1080p with AA/AF which they can't on the actual consoles).proper Flight sims like in the good olds days of MS FS. i dont care what genre it is, but i want more ambitious projects to be released. the PC is the perfect platform for developers' ambitions to be showcased, but i really feel like there's a lack of that happening nowadays.yellosnolvrIt seems like the big developers/distributors don't have the courage to take a chance and break the mold. In other words, they're telling themselves, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I think this is why we see the same premise of game being put out year-after-year. It's a risky proposition to spend so much time and money, and to risk the goodwill and reputations of a brand on something "ambitious" and radically different. I share your perspective, but it's easy for us to wish for things while other companies foot the bill and take the risks.
I guess there's not much of a market for it, but I want to see more classic side-scrolling (or perhaps more three-dimensional) action games. Let's see some modern iterations of Contra, Double Dragon, P.O.W., Ninja Gaiden, etc. Most of these games would likely be best played with an XBOX 360 controller or something similar. I'd love to see remakes of these games for the PC, or even for the consoles (although I don't own a console).
