I just decided to post this for anyone interesting in the developer for World in Conflict.

They're currently playing support development roles in Far Cry 3 and Assassains Creed: Revelations. They have yet to announce what their next title is yet though, but they currently have 4 job listiings on their website for MMO-specific positions.

A little while back they shown off that they went out on audio recordings for military/combat sounds, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they're probably working on a military/war MMO. Considering how long they've been hush hush about their next title, I imagine it's definitely going to be something significant.

Despite the lack of commercial success of World in Conflict, they clearly shown with it that they do not hold back in terms of quality or how to cater to the PC audience, which they did so perfectly with it. I'm definitely interested in what they will have to show us later on.

Good to hear at least some news. Last thing I heard was that they are working on a very interesting project without being allowed to tell any specifics. I absolutely loved WiC and I have faith in those guys.

Pretty average in sales, these guys are amazing, can't believe Ground Control and WiC weren't more popular. Sadly, it looks like Ubisoft bought them just for their "qualified" staff, not to put them on some RTS projects (Ubisoft's RTS series are average at best, they would have made something good with ME)

If that was true, Activision wouldn't have released them.

WiC did nto sell very well, and i'm sure it didnt do well in long term sales considering how small the community is compared to other RTS games.

I played the demo of WiC a while back and loved it. Still gonna get it sometime, and I'll definitely buy their next game.

This is really sad, WiC was a SUPERB game, I don't know why PC gamers didn't rally behind it. These guys went all out for the game. They did NOT take shortcuts on anything - sound, graphics, gameplay, multiplayer, storyline (if you care) were all top notch. It's too bad we will never see another WiC or Ground Control. All these starcraft / company of hero players were too close minded to try something new!! It got rave reviews from all major sites. Argh this makes me so angry!!! In case your wondering, right now graphically this is still in my opinion the best looking RTT/RTS to date although there is a new challenger on the horizon - Wargame: European Escalation looks pretty impressive.

Actually, no, Starcraft is the only successful RTS, CoH, DoW, WiC, they all failed, none of them had great sales, it's not about being close minded, people want solid games, none of these games are, they're fun, but they're no doubt a joke besides the fun factor.

how come CoH and DoW failed, they released 2 expansions for CoH, and DoW has 2 games and 5 expansion packs if these games failed they wouldn't bother to release sequels and expansion packs for them !!

Simple, they "sold" but not well, Relic complained about that, but unlike all the other developers, they didn't whine about piracy, they just said the sales they had on all their series were dissapointing even though their games were well received by critics.

Also all their games sold less and less with every expansion. The only game that'll sell decently will be Homeworld, they need to make it.

WiC is a great game, but after Ubisoft came and made that terrible expansion pack I wasn't really interested anymore.

Yep, but I was talking more about "innovative" RTSs (the 1q3er5 quote), C&C is one of the successful series simply because, it wasn't innovative (except C&C 4 that failed hard anyway), it was the same formula everyone enjoyed since the old days (except a few minor changes for ore and such) so multiplayer was popular and it worked fine even though they weren't the most strategic games ever released (single unit spamming and such). No doubt, innovative games, are fun, I'd say Relic makes the most fun strategy games out there and I loved all games ME developed, but RTS isn't a genre that will succeed without popular multiplayer that keeps people for more than a few months, there are only two types that can be successful without multiplayer at all, TBS games and TBS hybrids like the Total War series.
