Just curious which software you fellas use to listen to your music.

I've had iTunes for ages. While I do like it, I'm simply kinda in for a change. What I enjoy the most is having all my album nicely organized with the album art showing. What other program(s) besides iTunes can do this?

(No Windows Media Player, please ;))

iTunes...There's really not any other option. Or at least anything on the same level in my book.

Either Winamp or foobar2000. I know it seems weird, having two different media players of choice like that, but the two also have plugins that aren't available on the other.

Winamp is great....I've been using it for about 12 years.

I use Winamp, I don't really need a whole lot of features in my music player (even though Winamp does have plenty). It get's the job done, is pretty light-weight, and isn't always annoying me about updates (looking at you iTunes).

Yeah the iTunes updates are pretty annoying. It's not really a big deal to me personally, but it's still a pain, especially when you don't notice a single difference after like 20 updates.

Zune for the most part. Media Monkey for tag editing. Windows Media Player for movies. Audio Galaxy for streaming.

Im a little dissappointed that i cant seem to find a media player that fits my needs. Most media players start to either get massive performance issues or just outright break (like WMP) once your library starts to get bigger than 20,0000 songs.

Have you ever had a look at MusicBee? My library isn't quite that big as yours but it's still the best media player I've used IMO. I actually tried Media Monkey a while but I had weird issues with it.

Why even use a media player for file management? Just organise your library into folders and play directly from there. Just the way I do it on my phone as well.

Philips Songbird because I;m hypster.

It's actually based on firefox so it has addons.

It does mean it uses lots of ram though.

zunes music player is the best. microsoft knows software no matter how bad the first ideration of the actual zune was.

Obiwan_1O

I disagree completely. the first iteration of the actual zune was awesome, and the software that went with it was great. I got one like the week they came out. Then there was the firmware update, which completely ruined both the device, and the software. The Zune media player went from being my favorite, to total crap. One of the worst there is.

Winamp is gold. It's a bit of a resource hog, compared to others, so I just use windows media player when I'm playing a game and listening to music, but the rest of the time it's winamp. Great organization. Extremely customizable, with more custom themes/layouts available than I can be bothered to count. Has in depth ID3 tag editors, and other technical tidbits a lot of other players don't have easy access to. It's got a decent built in audio processor, with a highly customizable equalizer, and other things. Plus, a mind-blowingly awesome visualizer, that you can watch on random for literally days, and still be seeing presets you haven't seen before. Not that you would. The point is, it's got a massive variety of visualizers.

Windows Media Player.

But 90% of the time I listen to my music on my phone with Poweramp. Even through my speakers. I just can't get WMP to sound as good.

That's how I prefer to keep my media files organized as well. I HATE it when players like iTunes try to abstract the file system for everything.
