dvd, we wont see games on blu-ray until most people have blu-ray drives. It would be foolish for pc games to come on blu-ray at this point.
This. It will be a long time before games come out on Blu-ray because DVDs work so well for PC games, why change? Plus, Blu-ray drives are not very common in computers at this point.dvd, we wont see games on blu-ray until most people have blu-ray drives. heck by then we will have faster hard drives I imagine.Good idea...but I still think it's expensive in that method. All this talk about DVD/BluRays and space made me wonder one thing: When designers are about to create a game, they must have a plan at the start to be able to fit the game in one DVD, or 2 DVDs. How can they do this? What I mean is, they are making the game/cutscenes, and they get to let's say 4.5GB.... then one extra movie goes over....so what, they use a second DVD just for an extra cutscene???I personally hope the game industry skips blue rays and jumps straight to flash disk distribution.

True but they are getting cheap fast. I remember 3 or 4 years ago I paid $30 for a 512mb flash drive. Now they give away 1gig drives in goodie bags.
It's only a matter of a few years when a 32gig drive costs next to nothing.

Yeah I know....I remember paying my 1GB USB Drive at $99.....hahahaha... If games do go USB, then they will probably have to invent some new type of DRM.....Please Log In to post.
