what are your system specs? Age of conan is much harder to play on a lower end computer but the good thing is it is new so your in the same boat as everyone else. Wow is huge and still going strong but I don't know how many new players there are.

what i would suggest is try mmo's that have trials like WOW and LOTR and see which one you like..go to gametrailers and youtube and watch gameplays and previews and then decide...

i would recommend World of warcraft still...right now is the best time for leveling since there is 3-4 months or even more until new expansion comes out so you have time to level and enjoy alot of content..

Both are great games, so you can't really go wrong with ether.

Depends on what your going for, WoW is more polished and has more content but has a cartoonish look. Age of Conan is graphically better and graphically violent as well I might add. The combat in AoC is more engaging as well, you have to pay attention to what's going on. Both have pvp servers, but if you like pve with a little pvp on the side AoC is really weak compared to WoW. I don't find ether community any better then the other, they both have their fair share of idiots.

I'm playing WoW at the moment, with hopes that AoC's pvp content gets better in the future.

I agree with Delius' comments on this. WoW is more polished as it has had the time and support to achieve this. AoC is very pretty but is still a diamond in the rough. Try both and see how you go. For the sake of the extra cash initially try both for a month or so, then make the decision. Short term loss for long term gain, by choosing the one that suits you most.

Download trials and see for yourself. I personally recommend LOTRO over WoW - especially if you are a Tolkien fan. Both of them have free trials.

all good MMO's will offer a trial period. WoW and AoC, even the older ones like EQ, SWG, DAoC, etc. you can get a 3 week trial of EVE via Steam (and dont need a credit card even).

so try them all out for a couple weeks and see which one you personally enjoy the most.

Age of Conan its more fun then WoW and Eq believe me its awsome! Plus their coming out with DX10 in a couple months so its gonna look even prettier than the other mmo's and their working out on the group bugs etc.

He's right, Guild Wars is free, has better graphics than WoW, has almost as many players as WoW, Fun, Strategy packed - only having 8 skills at once, 4 games to go through and COMPLETE, unlike wow where you're at it forever. Lvl 20 cap, so you don't have to spend 1 year leveling to 70, or 2, to get to 80 in WotLK.

Take it from me, I've played them both. But eventually, like every game, you will get bored of it.

There are a lot of people who have played WoW to death and will say it isn't that great but it honestly is the best MMO ever made and if you don't give it a try then you'll just be playing some other $hitty MMO so get your money's worth and play WoW

From personal experience I recommend against the WoW trial when the game is now dirt cheap. The Trial is 10 days and has a bunch of restrictions on it to slow down RMT. You can't trade, you can't join a guild, there's restrictions on auction use, on mail. For $20 buy the game and try it out for 30 days, no Trial account limitations. Even if you cancel after a month $20 is a deal for 30 days entertainment.

I don't play either AoC or WOW anymore, but I liked WOW a lot more, despite some of its unbalanced pvp classes. AoC is crap, although if you really are interested in it, try it for yourself. But its basically a single player feeling while you play the game... and pvp is a frustrating crap mess that'll either force you to quit or switch to a pve server.
