What PC game should GameSpot have given a perfect score?

So I was real bored so I decided to look up how many perfect scoregames there are in the history of GameSpot reviews. There are 7...

1. Super Mario Galaxy 2 Wii

3. Grand Theft Auto 4 Multip Platofrm

Poor PC. No 10's at all... even Dreamcast has a perfect score game! To get the top best scored game on PC you have to go allllll the way down the list to 9.6 which is Diablo. Kinda shocking not 1 single PC game has a perfect score. So whatPCgame should have gotten a perfect score?

IMO World of Warcraft. Easy 10. Best game I have ever payed hands down. Even if you are not a fan of WoW you can not deny the impact of that game. Arguably the most successful game ever created. Just curious of what PC gameYOU would say should have gotten a 10 perfect score. Also, will there ever be one? Is Diablo 3 our only hope? Lets face it... not many PC games are exclusive anymore. Might be a long long time till we see aperfect scorePC exclusive :( Also kinda interesting is the fact thereis only 1 game on that list that is multi platform.... odd

Not shocking at all. PC has higher standards. It may sound elitist but it's true. If games like Deus Ex & Half Life can't score a 10 no PC game ever will, and to be frank no PC game ever should. Look at GTA IV for example, people are still complaining about the 10 it got.

Sorry, won't be an exclusive. No way now how... ever wonder what is taking so long for Half Life 3? Next gen consoles thats why.

I think there are quite a few games that could be candidates for a 10 score:

- Quake

- Baldurs Gate 2

- One or more of the Civilization games

- StarCraft

- Diablo 2

- Half-Life 2

- Total War: Medival, Rome or Shogun 2

- Deus Ex or System Shock 2

I think you could make a good argument for each of these games deserving a top score. In the end, it comes down to the individual who's reviewing the game, as such it becomes a matter of preference (for example, I've never understood how Metal Gear Solid 4 could get a 10).

I don't think so. It will be a good game for sure, but not perfect. Some reviewers didn't like all the clicking in Diablo 2 and will score Diablo 3 lower for that. There is also some controversy in Diablo 3. The online-only is a problem for some reviewers. The same with the real money auction house. Too many questionable things that can hold up the reviewer. I think it could get 10s on other sites, but not Gamespot. It will get 9.5 at the maximum if the reviewer is not too bothered by the aforementioned issues or as low as 8.5 if they are really bothered by them.

I Predict GW2 to get a 9/9.5. Not a 10.

honestly no game should get a 10...there is always ALWAYS something that could be done better...no game is perfect

1. smg2...its great had fun with it...when i wasnt fighting with the controller...but it did get old after awhile

2. mgs4...id actually like ALOT more game play in my games...i love the mgs series...but with the exception of mgs1 i think...they have been rather short if u skip the cut scenes...

3. gta4...the ai is rather stupid...and the optimization on pc is atrocious...not to mention rockstar social

u mentioned diablo had the highest score of any pc game...even that game had some problems...hackers...scammers...the interface needed some buffing(prefered diablo 2's scrolling spells and 4 hot keys for potions...made things simpler)

u also mentioned wow...where do i start there...well i love that they fixed 1-60 with cata...great job...now fix 60-80...takes forever to lvl cause no one is there...is like a ghost town and most of the quests are group quests...and everyone is so concerned about end game that there are hardly anyone available for dungeons...i rolled a new character to see what cata was all about for low level stuff...and i sat in a dungeon cue for over an hour in outlands as a tank...really? and its still pretty unbalanced for pvp...and its not implemented well at all...but thats what u get when u create a pve game and tack on pvp cause thats whats demanded...greatest mmo...and it still has some glaring problems

so like i said...no game is perfect...therefore no game is deserving of a 10...even the best games dont deserve a 10...there is always some way to improve or do something better

Why the assumption that 10 equals a perfect score? No game is ever going to be perfect in any sense of the word, requiring perfection to give out a 10 would simply mean that grading scale went from 1 to 9 rather than 1 to 10

If a Movie gets 5 out of 5 stars it doesn't mean that it's the best movie that's ever been made nor does it mean that the movie should be considered perfect or flawless, it simply means that by the standards of todays movie industry, the reviewer considers it to be a really good movie.

I agree with this. I think a 10/10 just means its THAT good of a game. Of course its not completely perfect. Thats impossible. All it means is its an extremely extremelely good game. I would give WoW a 10/10 cuz that game blew my mind. Can WoW be better? Heck yes, in many different ways. But I remember first playing that game. I was amazed. I was so addicted. Look at the impact of WoW... its apart of pop culture. Granted there was no way they could of known this only a few months after the games release. But it was obvious WoW was special.That game has given me so many hours of entertainment uncomparable to any other game. For me... it deserves a 10/10. Look at the video review for the game. The reviewer obviously thinks this game is above the norm. WoW has the"it" factor. Obviously not all people will agree with my opinions about WoW, but I would argue that all of us have atleast 1 game ?thatwe cherish and stood above the rest. That deserves a 10/10. Want another example? FF7! That game was special... I think FF7 has one of the top user review scores on this site.

I'm willing to bet GW2 will be the first PC game to be a 10 and you can quote me on that!

I hope you all realize review scores are opinions of reviewers.....just because you think a game "Deserves" a 10 there are always going to be an equal amount of people who may think the game doesn't and vice versa. It you want a game to get a perfect score go create a review blog or something.

none. there is no such thing as a perfect game. every game, no matter how good, always has flaws, sometimes numerous flaws. i could probably make a long list of stuff that sucks about games that i like
