$2000 can get you something like a Panasonic or Philips type brand plasma. You might have to find a sale or maybe last year's model.

Try checking out Onecall.com or Vanns.com, both highly rated, authorized seller, no tax/freeshipping sites. Vanns has a 50inch Panasonic Plasma for $1849 shipped, no tax, with a free $150 Harmony Remote.

http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/item/features/463999077

Don't have time to check reviews for that one at amazon or cnet or if that's the best price, but sometimes it's worth paying more at quality site like that than to get in trouble with a bad site elsewhere. And OneCall has a sale on the weekend with usually 10 random tvs getting a great price.

EDIT: Seems to get a pretty high review http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-and-plasma/panasonic-th-50px77u/4505-6482_7-32317316.html?tag=prod.txt.1

Ignore the prices in the above link, any site with a lower price than Vanns you'd be crazy to deal with.

The ANTI glare screen on this one seems a big plus for plasma, as most plasmas being glass they reflect like crazy compared to LCDs. And the deep black levels sound nice too.

Also check out AVSForum.com to find out more first hand use of any tv you might be thinking of.

Right. Because Panasonic, which can be found for $1800 or so, is low end.
