Are we talking the TMPIN1 or individual cores here?

My cpu temp OC'ed e8400 to 3.825ghz is 24c. Cores hover around 39c idle.

Dont trust idle temps. My e8400 never drops below 40c in core temp. You should be using Real Temp it is more accurate for 45nm chips. The e8400 have know problems with their temp sensors. What are your load temps?

The difference between your real temp and coretemp should be 10c due to coretemp thinking its 105c max and real temp 95c max. Coretemp "is" accurate in the sense that if it is 105c then it is. I took my side cover off when I was redoing my cooling and wiring and saw coretemp hit down to 38c on the cores when it was always 42c min.

Less you have stuck sensors, but then realtemp would show it too.

I do have a stuck sensor. I have had 2 different coolers on it and at different ambient temps I have never seen core0 drop below 40c. I alo have seen over a 10c difference between cores. Some e8400s have known temp issues.

My e8400 at stock was showing 36 idle with core temp, and 32 idle with real temp. With Everest 4.50, it was 42~. Odd.

Ok We all know that AMD Cpu's run alot hotter than intels but I must be the exception here. My X2 6000 running at 3Ghz which is also a 125W Cpu doesnt go any higher than 48C and idles around 30C with it's stock cooler. I dont know if AMD supplies bettter coolers than intel or what. Or could it be that I have a airduct to the cpu helping alot?
