I have a not so good comp. It has a celeron cpu on board gfx and 1 gig ram. Its just very annoying cause it cant run nothing i want it to run. Im a music producer also and I can even load alot of sounds cause the cpu:( I was wondering should i just buy a whole new rig or try to upgrade This mobo doesnt even have agp or pci e :( But if i buy a new rig is it possible to transfer all my hardrives data to the new hd? Cause i really dont wanna lose my music files

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldnt he be able to use the old HDDs in his new computer?

Also, if its an option, you should build your own computer.

just replace the hard drive w/ the new one or just combine them and have combined hard drive storage...sorry worded kinda wierd

If you can afford it and build it yourself than buying a whole new computer would probably be your best bet, you can even reuse your old hard drives if you want.

New rig, back-up your data, which should always happen even if you're not upgrading.

Build a new rig, put your current HDDs in as secondary drives and problem solved.

And no, it is not worth upgrading any of the other stuff in that computer. Toss it.

no doubt thanks again since my hd is crappy 40gb imma just add it as a secondary and i will build my own rig thanks again guys how much u think ill spend in total?

Couple more q's this will be my first rig i ever built my funds will be 500 you think thats enough? also any suggestions on whats the best items to buy etc would be very helpful to me. But my main question is if i have my old hd on the new rig as a second hd can i just have it boot my os from there? instead of buying a new one?

it depends how old the PC is
some oldler HDDs have the 39 pin connecter with the old ****4pin power cable so newer mother boards dont have those available unless you buy a convertor.
