What strategy game should I get?

So I've been looking a different strategy games scince I have a 20 dollar gift card to amazon. So I figure I could get World in Conflict Complete Edition, Warcraft 3, or Age of Empire 3. I normally like strategy games without base builiding so I kinda want to get World in Conflict. However I've been told by friends to get Warcraft 3 and Age of Empires 3 because once the action starts it doesnt stop. So just want to get some opinions on which one to get.

Also an important note, once I get settled into a game I like to go online, so which ever game has the biggest community will be the one I will most likely choose.

warcraft 3 + expantion, I still play that game every once in awhile.

World in conflict was good too, my least fav out of those is AOE3.

wc3 dota map will have the biggest community

Thanks, I might get Warcraft 3 as after reading a little about DOTA it sounds quite interesting. Plus from what one of my friends (who has WC3 and World in Conflict) he says WC3 single player experience is much more enjoyable and longer.

why not get age of mythology? or age of empires 2?

i think both are better than age of empires 3 lol

company of heroes might be another wise choice

its a new game based on the mod and its cheap now because no one bought it - its pretty good, just poor advertising

+1 for Warcraft 3, actually just got off playing it for the whole day :P Great with a bunch of friends

That doesn't really make anyone buy the game, does it?....singleplayer isn't worth it for such games.

WiC is a superb game but I personally didn't like the multiplayer much and there aren't many players left online, just a few extremely dedicated players, but the sp is superb sadly it doesn't last long so I too would say War 3 + TFT, because it has a great sp campaign and it's the most played RTS in the world so you will have no problems finding players to play any of its mods or the normal game,

Warcraft 3. It's a great game, has a huge community and there are thousands of custom maps from empire builders, chess, large scale RPGs, survival games, tower defense and so so much more.

Warcraft 3 is phenomenal in terms of single player. Multiplayer is also fantastic, but slightly different from many other RTS's (there are super units (heroes) that are much more powerful, adding a unique RPG element to this game, which isn't necessarily a bad thing).

Do people still play Age of Mythology online? I never got the chance to play that game...
