9999, in call of duty 2, i'm not really sure what was going on, but no one could hit or kill me because i was lagging so bad. unfortunately, i couldn't hit anyone else. with_teeth26Same thing happened to me on that game.
3000 is as high as you're gunna see, anything higher is fake or simply an errored report.teebeenzThats what my Xfire ping was. A massive error.
2000 on a CS server once because I had a download going from GS, antivirus scan and friends IM'ing me through MSN at the same time.
Also when I played WoW, there was a time when servers were going kahoot, I was hitting 10,000-20,000 for a couple of days straight. It was hilarious trying to PvP because people were pressing buttons and like 10 seconds later, the actions were happening ;P

Its a measure of the time it takes for information to go from your PC to the server and back in Milliseconds. A ping of 1000 means that it takes a full second for that round trip which may not sound very long but even a delay of 200ms can be a noticeable disadvantage in online play. Its especially important and noticeable in FPS's where your reaction time is important and if your aiming where your opponent was .25 seconds ago your chances of hitting are lowered by a fair margin.
