Are you using any raid? It sounds like it's asking for RAID drivers, download them from your motherboard manufacturer's site and load them to a USB stick (uncompressed ofcourse), insert USB stick when booting from OS disk. At the choosing which drive to install your OS on load the drivers from the USB stick and it should appear in the list.markop2003
for the hard disk or the driver?

RAID is basically a method to make 2 different HDD run as a single entity. If you only have one HDD, or just want them to run separately then you aren't using RAID.[QUOTE="markop2003"]Are you using any raid? when the bios setup has 3 options raid, ide, and achid i think
Make sure your hard drive shows up in Bios. Then make sure you set boot priority to DVD drive. Pop in the bootable OS (restart) and it should ask you to "press any key to boot". If you havent touched anything in your Bios it shouldn't be set to raid.
zaku101
1. it does show in the bios
2. priority 1 or priority 2?
the storage is under enhanced ide not raid .

SEt the DVD/CD drive for priority 1, then install the OS and set the hard drive to priority 1[QUOTE="TheShadowLord07"][QUOTE="zaku101"]

If you set boot priority to the CD/DVD, then it will boot off the DVD/CD and show the OS installation procedure.[QUOTE="TheShadowLord07"][QUOTE="markop2003"] SEt the DVD/CD drive for priority 1, then install the OS and set the hard drive to priority 1Luminouslight

Yep you have to get the one specifically for your mobo and bit rate[QUOTE="TheShadowLord07"][QUOTE="markop2003"] .... that's the wrong driver As i said before you need the motherboard raid drivermarkop2003

Yep you have to get the one specifically for your mobo and bit ratewell the windows 7 rc is 64 bit. and there is no other os instaill in my pc.
You should not need any drivers to install Windows 7. XP would need RAID drivers, but you are not doing RAID and are using Win7. Just continue with the installation.opamando
i cant thats the problem. i cant click the next button. i dont get why the rc version wont allow me to click next
Is this the screen you are stuck at?
Do you see your HD in that section?
You might need to click on Drive options
Then you can format your HD if needed?
opamando
yea im stuck there. what do you mean by hd? as in hdd?
HD- Hard Drive......... HDD Hard Disk Drive. Same thing yes. But it actually shows you HD at that screen?opamando
no it doesnt
So that screen just appears blank? Hmmmmm, I would try plugging the HD into different ports on the motherboard, doubt it will help, but easy to try. I really don't know what else to suggest, I am starting to wonder if it is not a defect HD????opamando
how would i now if the hd is defected or not?
Go to the motherboard manufactures site and download the ACHI driver if you want to use that mode (it is faster than normal IDE mode). Have the drivers on a floppy or USB disc and install them when Windows give you the option. Perhaps you have to press F6 during the early installation process - I haven't tried it with W7 or Vista.
OR you can just skip the problems and set the drive to IDE in BIOS, and you'll be able to install. The drive won't be running at the best speed, but you'll be fine - I was running IDE mod for years without noticing)

belboz
you mean usb drive right? Am I suppose to keep the folder in a compressed or uncompressed file?
edit: no way HDD can be dfeacted because it shows up in thee bios
I think I had a similar problem installing Vista once, for some reason it was complaining about not having the correct drivers for the DVD drive that I had. I ended up having to install the OS from a flash drive. Instructions here Instead of having the DVD drive be first in the boot order, you'll want to switch it to "USB-HDD" or something close to that.also the driver doesnt show when windows 7 ask select the drivers to be installed.
TheShadowLord07
im guessing your hd is unllocated . this hapenned to me once that my hd wasn't showing .
all you have to do is get a linux live cd like ubuntu or linux mint, boot from it , and use partition editor within linux to allocate space on your hdd. then you can create partition...
simple
I had all sorts of probelms with my Windows 7 RC1 disk because I burnt it too fast. If you're gonna burn it, burn it at 1x speed, if not put it on a flash drive and copy its boot sectors.Marfoo
is there an ios image buner with a 1x speed? mine doesnt
