Recently I did a clean install of Windows 7. Previously I had Vista which was a clean install also over XP. Since then, I have had 2 files, one called windows.old and another called windows.old.000. One seems to have been created during the install of Vista and the other more recently when I installed 7. Obviously I don't have much experience in dealing with files such as these.

I was wondering if it is okay to delete these files. Whatever I use I have reinstalled after the clean install of 7 and anything that seems to have been left behind (which I didn't think would happen with a clean install) doesn't seem to be anything I need. As well, these two files seem to be taking up quite a bit of space, about 107 gb, if the properties are giving me the correct information. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Its old files from previous installs of windows. find what you want in the files and delete the rest. usually they take up alot of space.
