What to Replace my Nvidia GT220 With?

SO Ive been thinking that I kinda need to change my video card since most of the games i have are having trouble with my Nvidia GT220. And i was also thinking of buying the Starcraft and my card barely covers the minimum system requirement so I was wondering that what card should I buy. I have a Dell XPS 8100 with Intel i5 @ 3.2Ghz with 8GB RAM and my PSU is 350Watt. besides that i don't know anything else. So any help would be greatly appreciated since i am not really hardware proficient. I mean i do like to research a lot but never tried installiung something major.

A decent 550watt but look at the AMD 7770

A decent 550watt but look at the AMD 7770

I should have said, the 7770 is if you dont want to replace the PSU.

If you can replace it, many more options are available,

PSU is easy,

1. Look for a good brand, Antec, Corsair, Coolermaster, Thermaltake

2. Make sure its 550 or 600 watt.

3. Install it.

$200 can get you a good 500-600 watt psu and an ATI 6850

basically the 6790 is a low power hd 4890 with like 90% better driver support (amd horribly supported the hd 4890)

I totally agree with you here. Another friend of mine told me the same thing. I'm just going to measure my psu and then buy it from newegg or tigerdirect.

$200 can get you a good 500-600 watt psu and an ATI 6850

yup, my PSU(600 watt) was actually only $50 and my gtx 560 was $150, so I can say for sure you can get something good with just $200.

I think it is worth mentioning that most benchmarks placed the 7770 as <550 ti when not over clocked, in some instances it seems to have been benched as > 6850 so it is for sure important to get an OC edition if not too late. Motherboards.org actually place an OC 7770(XFX black edition) as > 6870

If it is too late(or not) don't forget how excellent these newer cards are for OCing.
