my 32inch hdtv native resolution is 720p and it supports 1080i which one should i use to watch blu-ray movies on?and why?

Yeah, most 32inch LCDs have a slightly higher resolution of 1366*768 compared to 1280*720 that is 720p. So in some cases, taking 1080i and having the tv downscale it to 768p would look a hair better than 720p being upscaled to that 768p.
Like also said, it does depend on the tv and how well in deinterlaces. That comes into play more when there is fast motion. As it's possible during really fast stuff you'd see as little as 540p (a single field of 1080i). But maybe by then the motion blur from the recorded video will make that a moot point.
But, many will consider two options. For a fast action movie, choose 720p so you know you are always seeing that. But for romance, comedies, 1080i downscaled to 768p might withstand those type of movies enough to make it worth while.
