Mine Would Have to be Monte Cristo's very own SilverFall. I had high hopes for it but it failed horribly.
So much for a Diablo duplicate.....Where art thou Diablo 3???

Even though it was a demo that i played,Civilization 4 and Rise of Nations (Since it has a lot of Civ 4's features)Indestructible2
I thought the same about Civilization 3. But for me, it's not the game but the Gendre of the game i didnt like.

that and "battle for middle earth 2" - 2 of most lame rts ever created
I have to agree with that, first LOTR was nice but the second part is garbage

The entire Civilization franchise has been consistently AAA. Civ IICiv IIICiv IV. Say you don't like it by all means, but don't say that it's a bad game when it's not.
The worst games I have bought are Revolution, XS, and Daikatana.
Beyond Divinity.master_blue
Beyond Divinity was a let down. I hope you don't judge Divine Divinity on it's faults, because it's predecessor was a decent RPG.

I'm just nota TBS person, even though i prefer the Total War games Imperial Campaign to Civ games.Farscape The Game. I should had known better, but it had real voice actors from the TV series and the gameplay looked like something from Dungeon Siege. Needles to say I will never buy another game based on a TV series(..I reserve the right to make exceptions with SG, Angel and B5)
Edit
I wrote Farcry, meant Facscape. :P
I would have to say Heroes Of Annihilated Empires. That game sucked harder then Linda Lovelace!
Apparantly whoever said that Civ 4 was bad doesn't like playing turn based games. The Civ series + the original Alpha Centuri have always been great in my opinion.
C&C 3 was a true let down also. I own all the C&C games & I was totally disappointed with C&C TW.
Age of Empires 3 was another let down. :::sigh:::
No one can beat me....I picked up one of the worse games every on PC back in mid 2003.
I was checking out the PC game section and I came across this game. I was so impressed with the copy of Gothic that I picked up about 6 months prior, that when I looked at this game's packaging, I convinced myself that this could be another good Gothic type game...
Boy, am I stupid. This game was awful. My decent computer could hardly run the game because it was so poorly optimized. The controls didn't make any sense on why they were setup the way they were. The battle system was broken, or at least I couldn't figure it out in the half hour or so I spent trying to play this game.
I just wanted to kick myself in the head for wasting $40 on this game. I'm still mad at myself for getting it and I have never tried to reinstall or play the game after that first half hour of torture.
I'm so ashamed that I bought this game, I haven't even included it on my list of games here on GameSpot. And it's the only game I haven't listed that I own.
So please, someone tell me that I'm not the only other person that picked up a copy of this game: Mistmare
I can't possibly think there is any other game out there that sucks as much as Mistmare does. I feel sick now . I think I'm going to go lay down for a bit.
Armed Assault, better known as ArmA. Why?
1. Broken out of the box: the developer itself stated they didnt have the money to finish the game and were "forced" to release it. I am talking about missing textures, and lots and lots of crashes.
2. Patches didnt solve a thing. Ok ok, now I can play the game for 20 minutes as opposed to 5. Oh, and they put the textures in but now they take 5 minutes to load. I swear! I went to fly an A-10, and I was staring at a flat gray colored tube for a few minutes before the rest of the model was loaded and textured! (note that this was after the last and final patch)
3. And finally, they decided that, in their infinite wisdom, they would make both an expansion for ArmA AND a sequal. Not only is this before the original game was fixed, but for a developer that ran out of money making one game, dont you think its a bit more than they can chew?
I dont want to sound ignorant, but dont they have quality control in Europe? Or does Europe still think of gaming as a niche hobby and, as a result, isnt worth monitoring unless some German kids shoots his ****ates.
I had such high hopes for ArmA, specifically because of Operation Flashpoint and its expansions. But, all I can say now, is a disappointing "wow"
I would agree that C&C3 is one of the worst games I've purchased. Not only because it isn't very good, but it freezes on me so often that I can't even really play it. Bought it because a friend wanted me to play online with him. Guess how many times we've played? That's right, 0. Pfft.
I never buy games the day they're released blindly. I usually always wait for reviews or atleast a lot of positive feedback before I buy anything.
And I totally disagree that BF2 is a "bad" game. If you want to play it to its full potential, download the Project Reality mod, completely fixes the game and turns it into a true FPS firefight game, not a vehicle whorefest.
Ceasar 2 - when you ran low on peasants, plebians, the game would declare "MORE PLEBS ARE NEEDED" about every 30 seconds until the problem was fixed.
Blade & Sword - a cheap diablo 2 rip off. Bored the hell out of me in 20 minutes.
I wish I could be one of the people who say that Battlefield 2 is the worst game they ever played. It's like saying Scarface is the worst movie you ever saw, lucky you! There were so many broken and frustrating games in the late 90's and early 00's to choose from that you should count your lucky stars that a modern, fun, and pretty popular game is the worst you ever played.
X-Men Legends 2.
I hadn't played the original since it wasn't for the PC, and there was no demo for 2 at the time. But the game sounded neat - an X-Men action RPG? Cool. So I took a chance on it, and I ended up returning it after two hours of play. I NEVER return games. Even games I don't really care for I still consider part of my collection. But this one just had to go.
The most recent worst game that I bought was Advent Rising. I bought it based on a high recommendation, but I thought it was absolute garbage. The only good thing about it was the combat model, but nearly endlessly spawning enemies took the fun out of that, too.
I have other bad games tooof course, spanning back to the early nineties. But I guess I was relatively new to gaming back then and didn't really recognize a bad game when I saw one. So they didn't make as big of impression on me as these more recent ones.
Edit: Damn spaces.
Edit: OMG, these spaces make me want to poke my eyes out. Is there any way to turn off this GUI editor?
X3: Reunion
It was unplayable for like 6 months and on the official forums everyone was like "this game will be the best game ever you suck you didn't play X2 so too bad for you there's no tutorial blablabla". Releasing games that are so buggy they aren't even playable should be criminal
