Quake, Everyone in my school plays Quake when I was young. At our school we've a "Computer Room" with around 15-20 PCs and everytime when we have a 15-30mins break then everyone in our school will run to the Computer Room and fight each other to get a PC and then play Quake XD
Last year a bunch of people and I would play a Tron lightbike-varient game over LAN in a technology cIass. It was awesome.
Me and another guy played Warcraft III a bit over LAN in that same cIass.
unfortunately I never got to play games on school computers, but one time my friend put Counter strike on one of the laptops as a joke (it ran at 5 fps, because of a combo of bad hardware and bad connection). But I guess if flash games count, I played a lot of those miniclip side scrollers.
Comercial: Command and conquer Red alert
freeware: Liero, Era online, C-Dogs.
Red alert was my only commercial pc game, I lacked the funds to get others. So I mostly played freeware stuff.
Why does it have to be ~in school?~
OK, Oregon Trail was the standard back in those days. I also played a survival game where you were a fish and you had to avoid the hazards of living in a lake.
OSHI- OSPREY DIVE DIVE!!!@$#$%
I had a PC at home as well, I played Commander Keen, Doom, and Wolfenstein 3D mainly. iD owns my childhood.
starcraft, ut 99, warcraft 3, and of course showing all the console elites what it means to be good at halo on some good ol' lan battles on blood gulch via halo trial!!!!
wtf? IN SCHOOL? I never got to play games in school! well.. eh.. really dumb education games.. but thats it.. Oregon Trail I can remember.. and that game was awesome. I did however play diablo during my study hall once in high school.. The Computer teacher said it was impossible to play games on his Network.. HA! :PSLUSHiNaToRYea Oregon Trail was the only one I played in school because they thought it was somehow educational. I fondly remember my hunts where I would stock up on thousands of pounds of buffalo.

i was the student assigned to the computer lab as an assistant my senior year...i only had 4 classes...but had to be there 6 hours to be a full time student...sooo i made up the time playin games in the computer lab inbetween crying about how bad the computers had aged...no reason we should be using 1.5 gig single cpus with 256 mg of ram in 2008...
Well, I didn't have the whole computer lab experience when I went to school, but I played the crap out of all those Mecc/Learning Company games like Odell Down Under, Storybook Weaver (probably my favorite), Opening Night, Treasure Mountain, Africa Trail, MayaQuest, Midnight Rescue....those games were so good. Wish they still made stuff like that.
I don't think it was Math Blaster but it was something like that. Basically there were math problems and you had to do different things to get the right answer.
I think runescape, quake and age of empires were the most popular games on school computers back in the day because of the low requirements adn cause they're vey fun. i got a deja vu when wtrinig this sentence. i think i already wrote this somewhere. who palyed worms btw?? i think we also played that.
Wow. I gotta go back to the days of the ZX Spectrum, and playing games like Spy Vs Spy, Match Day 2, Jet Set Willy, Chase HQ and my all time fave, Back to skool.
Oh good times...
