I'm trying to decide how I will hook everything up to my TV and my Amp. First things first. TV: 2 x HDMI 2 x component Amp: 2 x optical 2 x coax HDMI Switch: 3-1 hdmi device - video -audio CableBox - DVI/HDMI - Optical orCoax Xbox 360 - Component - Optical Wii - Component - (not digital) Ps3 - HDMI - Hdmi or Optical HT PC - DVI/HDMI - Optical Current Problems - I'm one optical connection short - Fairly Complicated for my Girlfriend (even with a logitech harmony remtoe, its just... intimidating i suppose ;)) - My amp doesn't support WMA audio natively All I can come up with so far, from cheapest to most expensive: - buy a toslink switch (uggh.. one more remote) - buy an hdmi switch with toslink support (example - buy a new mid-line amp with more optical ports - buy a nice amp with hdmi switching and lots of digital ports, like the Onkyo 605

I'm all for the Onkyo just because it's so much bang for the buck. That'd be my choice if I had a little cash lying around. Your other options seem to be just cheap temporary fixes, where you'd have to find another solution if another problem comes up.

Second Question, Can I borrow $500? :) I suppose you're right, my amp is almost 8 years old at this point - It's just a little awkward finding Onkyo in Canada at a competive price, but I'll look around. thanks
