If Crysis does eventaully end up as a trilogy, what would you like to see in the future games?

I personally think it would be nice to play as one of the Korean nanosuits in Crysis 2; potentially one of General Kyong's bodyguards surviving the Awakening mission. This would also allow Crytek to create a new HUD if they wanted while retaining the same suit powers.

In Crysis 3, the possible escalation and conclusion of the war: I'd like to see with more varied locales, i.e. city areas. A non cliff hangar ending would be nice too ;)

Anyone else have any ideas?

Different locations; I'm sick of jungles. Also, a much better variety of guns. I know the attatchments give variety, but using the same assault rifle for everything gets boring.

Plus better aliens and less bugs.

Well they're improving alien AI in Warhead:

Crytek also listened to complaints that Crysis' enemy AI was lacking, and is working to improve it for Warhead, especially in the aliens, who will appear to have more human-like organization. Group tactics will be improved, and Korean combat chatter will receive an upgrade to better inform you of what the North Korean soldiers are up to.

Cool!

I'd also like stealth to be easier; you can't creep up on anyone in Crysis. Also, I'd like the cloak and speed ability to last longer.

i hope the Ai are more realistic. they seem to know you're there from half a mile away... i mean, they're not using binoculars, you could be anybody. they also react to much, i think you should be able to silence shot someone and have them die there without waking up the whole village. you should also be able to drag dead bodies away. but i know since crytek didnt even allow for a ragdoll mod that wont happen.

Nope. Crysis is supposed to be open-ended, and stealth should be a viable option, but it is literally impossible. And the cloak and speed ability are next to useless, because they last for a couple of seconds.

You must just not be very good at stealthing, because stealth is the single easiest approach to take in the entire game, and that's even without exploiting the cloak by cloaking, uncloaking, headshotting, cloaking, uncloaking, headshotting, rinse and repeat. Sorry, man, but you're wrong on this. Stealthing is totally viable and very easy to do in Crysis.

Speed is plenty useful. It allows you to run slightly faster than a normal sprint while just jogging, and the sprint isn't meant to last a long time. You're supposed to use it to dash from one point to another too quickly to take a hit, or to close the distance between you and your enemy in a split second.

So how do you use stealth, then? Cause whenever I try to creep up on a guy, I get noticed in 1 second, unless I'm prone in some bushes.

yeah exactly. dead on. if sprint in speed lasted longer it would be ridiculous. its meant to like dart across an open path between cover and stuff. and yes stealth is totally viable.

i was going to make a thread about what they shouldve included in crysis but now ill just put it in here.

they mentioned in the early interview with gamespot how much wildlife there would be well not much to be honest. theres chickens. small birds, fish, sharks and the turtle. what they needed was like a tiger every now and then, some monkeys maybe. seriously think about it. how cool would it be that your stalking the koreans and you come across a tiger. with really good ai. it would create a little safari hunter mini game with the best graphics available. it would be totally cool. infinite replay ability just for hunting tigers and bears and stuff

I thought Crytek planned the plot arc as to the Koreans and Americans, calling a temporary truce to fight the aliens. Meaning you will only fight aliens?

Well, one way would be to get relatively close to him, cloak, get right up next to him, grab him, then switch modes and beat him to death. Or you could just switch to strength while next to him and punch him. There's lots of ways to sneak up on someone depending on how you want to use the suit, what the environment and circumstances are.

I remember I uncloaked once and strength-punched a guy, thinking I'd done an awesome stealth kill, but he went crashing through the wall of the hut. Imagine how it must have looked to his mates... :P

Somehow, I don't think tigers and bears would be found on a tropical island. Monkey, maybe, but not tigers. :P But yeah, it'd be neat if they tried to have more tropical wildlife around.

Everything that was in Crysis 1.

That game is almost FPS perfection, straight up.

Though different locales would be nice; I think some urban settings would be totally awesome. Remember the Crytek video showing the bouncing balls going down streets in San Francisco? Ya, that would be cool to battle aliens there.

i know what u mean i thought about taht too but then realized not much of crysis is that tropical aside from the beaches. the game was supposed to be jungle environment but its more temperate forest. the only jungle they showed was in the original dx9/dx10 jungle fight comparison. which the game turned out to be no where near as dense and lush

Yes, but still, the point wasn't so much that it's tropical but rather that it's an island. You don't find tigers or bears on islands, at least not the kind in Crysis.

I'd like to see a knife in the sequels. I remember i went prone in the water with stealth on as the koreans were inching towards me...i stood up and let it rip with the rifle.they were totlaly surprised and it felt so authentic. However i coudnt help wishing that i was sneeaking around in stealth in the water and silently knifing one north korean at a time and then the last one turns around and goes "OMG WHERES MY TEAM AND WHY IS THERE A GUY IN A SUIT SPEEDING TOWARDS ME??!?!?!?!?"

They could easily change the HUD all they would have to say is that it was a major firmware update. They need to integrate the 6th sense into the game, which is IMAGINATION!

bangell99

I would. There's a difference between taking something real and portraying it in a way that's untrue, and making something up entirely like aliens and nanosuits. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with the former, it's just not suited for an enactment of what might happen if such and such were the conditions in a real life situation. There's no reason to not use the actual creatures that would be on such an island, anyway. Why use bears and tigers when you can use the real animals that would exist there?

WW3 with aliens in it :D

Speed is plenty useful. It allows you to run slightly faster than a normal sprint while just jogging, and the sprint isn't meant to last a long time. You're supposed to use it to dash from one point to another too quickly to take a hit, or to close the distance between you and your enemy in a split second.

JP_Russell

You can knock down an enemy if you rush at him in speed mode, and once his on the floor, headshot him. 8)

Honestly, I wish they made better use of the game's multiplayer component. They should have made a game mode where they got rid of the suits, added classes, and made it tactical. The engine is capable of so much yet they did so little with it. I was thinking it should have been more like BF2 except smaller and more tactical. And it wouldn't hurt if they picked up a better anti-cheat and updated the game more frequently.

And I think adding a ranking board like BF games would also make more people play it.

Somehow, I don't think tigers and bears would be found on a tropical island. Monkey, maybe, but not tigers. :P But yeah, it'd be neat if they tried to have more tropical wildlife around.

Maybe they could put polar bears on it.

You can already get that in Crysis.

Better optimization

more weapons

wildlife

no aliens - and if so, make them rare encounters, not huge motherships freezing half an island,

and id love it if it was a squad shooter....but thats just me

"What would you like to see in Crysis 2 and 3"? A good story. Let me put it to you this way........if I can set Crysis graphics to LOWEST and still have fun....it's a good game. However that was not the case for the original Crysis.

after Farcry, Crysis already seems pretty formulaic. now we're talking about a trilogy, with possibly one expansion to each of these games? Crytek is well on its way to become the fattest one trick pony in the industry, and i honestly feel sorry for its fans....

I actually couldnt agree more. To me they come across as someone who can do ONE thing fairly well but are entirely one dimensional.

Sure farcry 2 has a new setting but at most its the same thing in a different location. I think they are in for a wakeup call with the crysis sequals if they dont change them up very much. By the 2nd game the novelty factor of the graphics will have worn off and wont be enough to carry the weight of the otherwise fairly shallow game mechanic.

Less linear gameplay ... if your gonna have HUGE islands let me work my way aroud them .... crysis literally put you on a track and made u run to each location ... not very free for to me

Crysis 2:

We return to the island wihich is now a nuclear wasteland. Some aliens survived the blast and you'll fight your way through them as you track down Prophet, but this part is primarily exploration. You find what you believe is Prophet's corpse, but before you can scout out the area, you get reports that a large number of alien spacecraft have been spotted in the solar system and you have immediate orders to evac. The alien ships are a search and rescue sent in response to the (distress) message picked up at the end of Crysis, but Earth governments assume it's an invasion fleet and engage them as they enter Earth atmosphere, which happens shortly after you get off the island.

The ships enter atmo over the Pacific, but move toward the US as most of the attacking forces are flying over US airspace. The ships devastate much of America as they fly overhead, and hold off the global response but it's essentially a battle of attrition, and with multiple militaries (US, UK, Russia, Japan) engaging them, Earth wins. The final battle is fought over the Atlantic. The player will participate in some epic dogfighting here.

The last ship is disabled but not destroyed and its vector puts its crash zone about 30 miles off Boston in the Atlantic. The US government wants to salvage as much technology as possible, and because only the coastal area is expected to see casualties from the tidal wave, and these are expected to be relatively light (considering the state of the rest of the country), the US government decides to let the craft crash rather than destroy it.

Before crshing, the ship unexpectedly comes back under control and veers into the city where it crash lands. Before landing, it unleashes much of its remaining arsenal on the city, causing enormous devastation to a city which was already in a state of chaos and panic.

With the threat neutralised, you (and your regiment) are ordered to secure the city and the alien technology, but it quickly becomes apparent that the Russians (who brought a large percentage of their navy into the Atlantic without US response during the battle) have invaded on a large scale to secure the city (and are advancing on others) and have taken control of the ship and its surrounding area, as well as large pockets of the city in tactical strong points.

Intel indicates that an airborne invasion of the city would result in significant tactical losses. Your regiment (as well as a large British taskforce stationed in the Falklands) group on the western outskirts of the city and prepare to take it back block by block. The player will alternate between participating in large scale battles in the devastated urban environment and advanced recon and sabotage. The player will sometimes be accompanied (Call of Duty 2 styIe) by a full military force, sometimes just by his Delta team (which you now command and you can issue orders to your men but they are also autonomous and will mimic your styIe of play), and sometimes you're alone.

The final act sees you crushing the remaining Russian forces, taking back the ship and boarding it, the clearing it deck by deck of aliens (this will be similar to the zero g of C1, but also a very unique experience by itself). You locate a command deck of sorts and discover that there is a small alien vessel hiding behind the moon.

The final sequence sees you and a considerable percentage of Delta Force and the SAS leaving Earth in an out-of-atmosphere military space vessel (a top secret US/UK black op technology). Your missiion is to dock with the ship and commandeer it if possible, and destroy it if not. The alien ship does not leave the cover of the moon during your journey. Shortly before you arrive in lunar orbit, you receive message that a nuclear war has broken out between America and Russia, and that most other nuclear nations have joined in. The final transmission is garbled, but it seems like it is an order to stand down and dock at the international lunar colony - the first baby step towards colonisation of the moon.

A debate breaks out between the soldiers as the final transmission was unclear and command can no longer be contacted. The ranking officers decides there's only one thing to do - continue with the mission. The ship appears to be low on power, and the docking bay is open. The Earth ship lands inside the alien carrier and the soldiers suit up and prepare to take the ship. As they are doing so, the docking bay doors close, the ship comes to life and we see the ship power up and fly out of sight at great speed. The camera spins to show a ravaged earth with nuclear blasts breaking out all over the surface.

Roll credits.
