it was pretty descent, the graphics were amazing as usual, ant it really made you want to keep playing. hopefully they come out with the sequel in under a year, i bet they already had half of it done before releasing the original. they don't need a graphical upgrade, all they need is to optimize the damn game.

I think it wrapped up the initial self-contained story (the OH NOES ALIENS AND KOREANS ARE HERE!!! story), but it also set up plotlines for the second game, like the return to the island to find your pal, and the possibility of a full blown alien invasion.

I think that's exactly how a story that's part of a series should end. It's self contained and can be taken as a standalone, but it is also a part of a greater, overarching story. I think it was a little too heroic though, the whole I'm the only one who can save him and nothing's gonna stop me, It's suicide but I'll make it because I have tononsense isn't my kinda thing, but yeah, it was okay.

A good ending to a great game.

Just as a tip for the future, by the way, Crysis is only available for PC and this is a PC games forum, so you don't really need to specify that in the thread title.

It's quite a spectacular, beautifully rendered, cliff-hanging pile of suck and fail.

The ending was alright. Not great.

But the whole sequence of events on the aircraft carrier leading up to it has got to be one of the most badass in gaming history.

I felt that the last level was more of a downer than the ending

I thought it was pretty much perfect. Perfect combat sequences, extremely epic throughout, two boss battles one after the other, a satisfying close with an incredible closing view of the carrier and alien space ship sinking, and the bit where Nomad *spoilers* decides to go in to save Prophet was short so as to keep from being anti-climactic and out of pace with the intensity you just went through, as well as a clean-cut "there will definitely be a sequel" that gave you an idea how the next game would start out so you could feel drawn toward what the next plot would be and focus your anticipation on how they'll fluff it out from there. In other words, there was no "Welllll... *shifts eyes around* There could be another game comin'... *rocks on heels with hands in pockets* Maaayyyybe... *winks* And, you know, it could start out like this or that. You know... *sniff* possibly. *nudge, nudge*"

I think it was a little too heroic though, the whole I'm the only one who can save him and nothing's gonna stop me, It's suicide but I'll make it because I have tononsense isn't my kinda thing, but yeah, it was okay.

I actually liked that. The fact that it was his commanding officer he evidentally respected in a fairly tight-knit squad actually made it believable To me, anyway. If it were someone I respected as much as my Tae Kwon Do master, for instance, I'd be pretty willing to try to go in and help him out (and given that I'd just got done taking down an alien 'mech and a giant spaceship, I'd be feeling pretty capable to boot). Maybe my own experience with having great respect and loyalty for a person of militaristic authority is what makes me able to relate and thus take that aspect more seriously (as opposed to seeing it as your typical unrealistic, cheesy Hollywood drama as you see in much of the rest of the game, though I can understand why some people might).

I'm betting the same way the aliens did, however that is.

Hmmm the last part in the carrier was visually amazing, especially when you step out on the deck and see the flying sentinels seemingly taking over the sky as there are something like dozens of them, and all that was topped of with a visually amazing ending sequence. Story wise I felt that the last 20% was when the games story begin to really 'move', before most of the story was told in the previews and only a boring NK general was added to the game, but the last part really made me feel like I was in a movie. It was not the best and not the worst, I thought that the endings to StarCraft: Brood War and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater were better, among others.

I agree. But the thing is the endings to those games are probably the best endings to a game period. I think Crysis did well enough.

I didn't like it.

it was annoying. tedious.

It had all the elements to a good ending but sometimes you need more.

........ok I'm going to say it.. LIKE COD4!!!!

I thought it was great. I was expecting an ending like that since that Crysis is gonna be a trilogy. But if it wasn't a trilogy then I'd have different thoughts.

What bothers me is when people cry out foul about a ending now a days.. What would you prefer the aliens were killed off by the explosion, and Nomad heads home?
