Hi I have been looking for a mmo to get into as I want to try to get into new types of games. Wiether it be WoW, Guild Wars, LoTR , WAR, or EVE, which one is the most user friendly to new users to the game?

Thanks,

JeX

that would be WoW. one of the reason why it's so popular is its user-friendliness. you don't have jump in right away as well, since there's a trial available.

while many would say WoW, I think for most people Guild Wars is the much better fit. Guild Wars has much less emphasis on item farming relative to other MMO's. It is tough as nails to get what you want in WoW. Maybe not relative to everquest, but don't be surprised if you quite literally spend 2 weeks on about 6-10 hrs of play a week getting a single item. Guild Wars is much like a normal game in that item drops are much less randomized and the PvP is pretty balanced and not as much based on gear as skill. The endgame comes much quicker than WoW, but I think it has a bit more depth to it.

to be honest i prefer Guild Wars over WoW....but GW isn't even a mmo to begin with....so.....

the population might have diminished as well....i'm not sure about this, since i've left some 2 years ago.

It's still alive and kicking. I would also recommend Guild wars. That being said there are 3 Guild wars games plus an expansion. Get Guild wars: Nightfall (prefarbly) or Guild Wars: Prophoecies (or Just plain Guild Wars)

Don't bother with MMORPGs. WoW just wastes your cash. Just find some good first-person shooters. You can get some of the great old ones for next to nothing (I got COD and COD2 for about $5 each, and Half-Life 2 is only $10 (+$10 for episodes)). Plus, you can get some of the new ones, like COD4, Crysis, and so on.

That is the absolute worst advice I have heard on these forums. For someone looking for online RPG's, how ON EARTH would buying first-person shooters be what they are looking for?

Just because YOU don't like MMO's doesn't mean they are a waste of cash. At least recommend something like Guild Wars or Diablo, even if they aren't MMO's at least those fall into the "online RPG" category.

Anyway, to answer your question, WoW or WAR if you can devote more time, if you don't have a lot of time to devote to a game, than get Guild Wars.

WoW or WAR depends on what you want... PvE or RvR.
