Okay. I already like RPGs, RTSs, Adventure and Shooters (Both perspectives). It's time for me to explore another genre.... with my background, what TBSs are good to start off with? I don't want something too complex, but I don't want something that's too simple either.

Also, if possible recommend one that's 2-3 GB at most and has a good campaign.

turn based strategy? you could try one of the total war games, medieval 2 being my favourite cause its got a mix of both RTS and TBS and would ease you in, or maybe civ4?

Total War of any type are awesome games... They are turn based on a campaign map... All are pretty straight forward going all the way back to Shogun... So you could play an older one (to stay in your 2-3gb range) and get the same experience... Basically you pick which nation/faction/family(rome only) and then you begin with a few regions under your control with the objective being total victory by becoming emporer/supreme ruler/shogunate through war and persuasion... not much story... but heavy diplomacy, warfare and city management... and turn based with 2 turns per year...

Not many other turn based games I can think of besides Civilization... but I am not a big fan of those games... to simple in my opinion...

Also the other big part of Total War games are the battles... Massive battles with thousands of troops (with Rome and above being fully 3d)(older games had 3d maps with 2d sprites as troops...)

So why not "start off" with them? Why own them and not play them?

Civ4 + expansions. Heroes 5 is too hardcore for a TBS noob.

Get X-Com: UFO Defense off of Steam. It's the only TBS you'll ever need.

Recent TBS Games/Series : 1. Heroes of Might and Magic Series : Best combination of depth , variety, accessibility and fun. newest version is HoMM V which is pretty good but the best one is HoMM 3 which is a bit old, but I think it is perfect for a beginner as it begins slowly and grows over time. 2. Galactic Civiliaztions Series : I would say is a lot less accessible and a bit slower paced, so would not really recommned it for beginner but do try it if you like TB games mechanics 3. Disciples - It a simpler version of Heroes series with a limited battlefield and limited units etc but still fun nonetheless. It is also a good choice 4. Civilization Series : It is also pretty easy to get into and get this if you want more City building related stuff etc 5. Jagged Alliance : It is also a good choice if you want more tactical gameplay
