RPGs (Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age: Origins), Sandbox Games (GTA, Oblivion, Fallout 3), and games with a lot of replay value (Diablo 2, Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2).
Fallout 3 or New Vegas, Elder Scrolls Obilivion or Morrowind. Those will last you for as long as you want.

The two games I have spent the most time on have been Fallout: New Vegas at 57 hours and Neverwinter Nights at 64 hours.
Good games but they aren't really "much". ME 1 takes 9 hours to do the fun things, 14 to complete very single side quest. ME 2 does everything right but it too only takes 20-22 hours to complete 100%.Mass Effect 1 and 2

X3: Terran Conflict
Mount & Blade: Warband
Terraria
Morrowind (with mods and expansions)
Great games for wasting a ton of time.
Civilization - one more turn.
Just Cause 2 loving it. Only got it recently but already put a good number of hours without realising. No end in sight and can see myself just losing hours messing around. It feels like it can be as long as you want it to be.
Totally agree with Anno 1404.
Supreme Commander can get long, GTA. rpgs like Dragon Age Origins.
Most times people are posting are times they've spent goofing around in games or games with no actual ending. Actually playing a game, I'd say Witcher 1 took me about 50 hours.bonafidetkYou're also "actually" playing a game, when you're playing "extremely long games" (which is what the thread is about) and goofing around (means game has value and lasting appeal like TBSs).

Lol did you do speed runs or somethin? ME1 took me like 25 hours and I only got like 85%, and ME2 i got like 50 hours and almost 100%
Minecraft - I've been playing this for months and I am still having a blast, the new 1.7 piston update is so awesome. I finally built a bat cave.
Baldur's Gate II + Expansion - The best RPG I've ever played even when comparing to today's standard. It's super super long.
Left 4 Dead - bought this last year and still playing it
Team Fortress 2 - nuff said

Nope I actually took my time with ME 2 (and I didn't play all the DLCs since they weren't released at that time, only the DLCs it had at release), 1 went as fast as they intended.Good games but they aren't really "much".
