The Core 2 Duo is better than the Pentium D by a mile. By comparison, the Pentium D (and really, all of NetBurst) could be considered the Windows *Me* of intel's history. It was just that bad, and it's a practical sin that we as consumers had to deal with such trash from them for all this time.
