I currently have a P4 3.0 Ghz HT. What's the best 775 I can get without having to upgrade my mobo?

only single core processors so probaly a petium 4 3.4gz but it won't be worth it to buy it because its not much better than the one you have so i would recommend you get a motherboard that supports core 2 duo

That has a 915 chipset right? If so you can't go over a P4 w/HT, That being said I am not sure how fast they go, I know up to 3.4, possibly 3.6. I don't know if it would be worth it to upgrade though.

They go up to 3.8 Ghz, if that makes a difference. :\

I don't want to get a new mobo because the P5GD1 only supports DDR1, which means I'd have to get new DDR2 RAM as well.

if you have your motherboard manual it should list all supported CPU's

Also you could probably check your motherboard manufactures website and get it there.
