I was hooked on Return to castle wolfenstine for about a year and also the half life collection do you guys have a game that you will always cherish? Now the the pc gaming world is at a low until the summer time, im still playing half life 2 so if you got a newer game that caught your attentions please share the tittle.
for the story and physics engine, Half Life 2 really hooked me. Even though it's not really true FPS, Operation Flashpoint multiplayer was my obsession for quite a few months at one time.

What do you mean PC gaming is at a low? We got STALKER for FPS. SUPCOM & C&C3 for RTS comming out 1st quarter, well supcoms already out and don't forget Burning Crusade for those mmo guys. There are a lot more big titles comming out summer but we got some excellent games now.
I'd have to say System Shock 2. Best impulse purchase of my life. (Admitted, it's not a standard FPS, but that's probably why it's one of the best games ever made as of today.) I also had good times with Unreal Tournament and the Strangelove mod, but SS2 wins me over for some reason.
Wofl3D and Doom were what got me into FPSs, if that's what you're asking. As far as obsession goes, I was pretty obsessed with Halo (xbox version), R6: Raven Shield (PC version) and BF2 for a while.
Pretty much all Half-Life games, (CS, CS:S, DOD:S, etc.), Battlefield Series, F.E.A.R. was a game I played through as quick as I could, and some others which I've played a lot. But mainly Half Life and Battlefield games.
UT2004. I liked UT2003 and when UT2004 came out I got really hooked. I couldn't stop playing for months. And I only really play the DM gametypes (DM, TDM, 1v1, TAM). I remember when HL2 & Doom 3 came out, I would start playing and couldn't focus on them. I would just exit and load up UT2004 and play online instead. I just now have gotten over that game and I'm able to enjoy other games.
