Whats the best LOW PROFILE PCi-Express Graphics card available?

Can anyone point me to the most powerful low profile video cards, with PCi-Express interfaces, please.

A friend of mine needs to upgrade his video adapter cos the onboard one sucks, and I need to get him playing battlefiled games etc so i can shoot him, lol

Thanks for that, problem being that he doesn't have a double slot for the card in the machine he has. Sorry forgot to mention. (didn't think there was a double out there, lol)

I am in a the exact same situation as your friend where i can only get a single slot GPU.

The BEST single slot graphics card you can get at the moments is:

radeon x1950 pro

However i am looking to personally get a much better single slot graphics card but it hasnt been released yet. They are:

radeon HD 2900 XL

radeon HD 2900 pro

radeom HD 2600 XT

Remember power supply is an issue and if you are looking at those last 3 cards i mentioned be aware of bottle necking his CPU.

The problem is that none of those are low profile... They're all too high. Look at the link for the X1300, that's the size he needs.

A single slot graphics card means what that only takes up 1 expansion card bracket and a cooler of the same thickness. All cars i mentioned are exactly like that.

Only difference i can see with the 1300 is that it is not as long. Is that what he wants?

Look at the height of it, it's only got one DVI port and an S-Video port, most GPUs have 2 DVI/VGA and an s-video.

Hey people...bring this thread back to life.. Have a Core 2 Duo Optiplex 320 - LOW PROFILE PCI-Express. Has a DirectX 10 onboard graphics set with shared memory..decent enough PC but the onboard is limiting.

Christmas bonus' are here so money is not an issue. What is the best low profile PCIe card I might find? Is there a GeForce 8800 Ultra or equivalent top of the line ATI card in a low profile configuration? If not, does anyone know how many steps backwards I need to take to get a low profile card? Thanks for all your help......I've been out of the video card discussion for a while (I rode my ATI Radeon 9600 for years..) I want to play Far Cry, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.,Fear,and Never Winter Night 2 to name a few....all maxed out if possible! Thanks again..
