World of Warcraft. No Mmo to date has immersed me as much at it has.
Though Dark Age of Camelot is a sure 2nd
World of Warcraft
There are a lot of great MMOs out there such as LOTRO, TabRasa, Pirates of the Burning Sea, and EVE.
But World of Warcraft is the only one that has me coming back. Its the only game I've actually continued subscribing to. Its got a generally great community, gameplay that is immediately gratifying, its fairly easy to accomplish something in a short amount of time, the instances are fun to run even with a group of randoms, PvP is super fun.
EVE is now on steam with a 3week trial or something, easily the best priced big MMO today.teebeenz
ooohoo, 3 week trial? Time for me to revisit it.
[QUOTE="Srinivassa"]What's POTBS? Sounds like people getting stoned.SaintJimmmy
it is Pot Bots
Pot Bots? Great game, haven't played it in ages.
I've been playing Pirates of the Burning Sea lately, and that certainly appeals to me the most (I'm a huge fan of the setting).
It probably isn't the 'best', but this is all just personal preference anyway, so...PotBS gets my vote.
MMO's are a complete waste of money... and the ones that dont cost a monthly fee are terrible.--Rampage--
I've always said there are two kinds of people that make this post....
1. Children that aren't old enough to hold a job, and therefore, fairly justified in their anger.
2. Cheapskates that aren't bright enough to realize that one month of MMO fee's is still cheaper than going to the movie theatre alone for a 2 hours movie with popcorn and a soda. (see below)
Now, I know the latter sounds harsh and everyone is entitled to their own opinion; but my second opinion is only aimed at those that get on their soapboxes every time the mention of an MMO comes up. I also realize that I make enough in one hour of work to pay for 2 MMO's at a time, and that fact might make me view subscription fees through rose colored lenses, but it's still only 15 lousy dollars for a month of gaming!!!!
Apparently the best were pre-CU Star Wars: Galaxies, Eve Online, and Dark Age of Camelot. WoW is evidently the most addicting, but not the best game.
I'm holding out for Warhammer: Age of Reckoning to be what I had hoped WoW would be. I played Guild Wars for 2.5 years and loved every minute of that, it has the best PvP for a F2P, but DaoC has the best PvP overall.
