8800 Ultra? You mean GTX right? and ATI is coming out with the R600 soon so you might wanna wait a bit. You will get more help from the PC Hardware forum as well too btw

yep 8800 ultra is currently the best there is. You can however, OC an 8800 GTX to the levels of an 8800 ultra if you buy a GPU cooler like zalmans.

This thread fails. You ask questions on what's the best video card and what the price is like your some hopeless noob. Then you argue with people who post saying you know which the best card is and even provide links. Are you trying to tell me you know how to research a card's specs to prove your right but you cannot look for the price of the card?

Regarding which is better, that is pretty much all opinion. The leading cards from ATI and NVidia are pretty neck-and-neck. To see some really good reviews, check out Tom's Hardware. (http://www.tomshardware.com/) To get prices, go to Newegg. (http://www.newegg.com/)

The best cards currently on the market from both companies are ATI's X1950XT and NVidia's 8800GTX. Although ATI is coming out with their nw HD 2900XT card this month. It should retail around $450-$600.

P.S. didn't realize the 8800Ultra was out yet. The 8800Ultra is NVidia's best video card, not the 8800GTX. Though the GTX is damn good.

BTW, expect to pay an arm and a leg for your 8800 Ultra.

Saw an EVGA one on Newegg for $829.
