you mean 1080i right. The difference between the two is in the way it handles the video signal. 1080i is an interlaced signal which means that, on a tv that can handle true interlaced images, every other line of an image is drawn in 1 frame. This means that it takes two full frames for an entire image to be drawn. 1080p is progressive. which means that the entire image is drawn to the screen in 1 frame. That's why 1080i on hdtv is limited to 30 fps whereas 1080p is a full 60 fps. There are other difference but that's a good place to start and I don't know how much you really want to know about this.
Not to sound like a dick here, because I know that the forums are about sharing knowledge and helping our "fellow man", but c'mon, how many of these threads are out there? Is it that hard to use the search function? Or google? Or even freaking wikipedia or some online source?

I used wikipedia but didn't want to read 10 paragraphs. I figured asking someone on the forums would be much easier.:|
It' all right dude. Some of us don't mind answering these questions...JamesB007's right though. This Forum is flooded with Threads for this comparison and many others.
