TakaNui
Yes, it's a pain in the arse. Some of your components may not work correctly or to their fullest until Vista specific drivers are released.

well as long as my processor and and graphics cards run best i dont carewell ill be playing DX10 games. and again, will that work?TakaNuiYes, the 32-bit version of Vista will do all that fine, actually even better than the 64-bit. Get the 32-bit.
will it be bad if i got the 64 bit instead?
TakaNui
Well, no, not "bad". You are just asking for a whole lot of trouble you don't need. What exactly does the 64 bit Vista get you that the 32 bit does not? You are getting 2GB of RAM, so 32 bit Vista will be fine with that.
vista sucks, luckly i got it at the MS store for$50:D
Btw i have a 2.66 core 2 duo, 2gb ram(fast ram), 8800GTX, 250gb hd... and vista crashed every time i would do ANYTHING.... playing solitare it crashed.... i was running the 32 bit because their were no 64 bit drivers for my sound card or wireless.... again, vista sucks... its about 1-2 years before its time....that isbeing ready and working on a broad varitey of computers...

LOL
I'm using Vista 32 bit in a Pentium 4 & playing games without having problems. With a Radeon X200 onboard memory.
I'm running Obilivon, CnC3, Stronghold Legends, NFSMW.
No problems

thats why i said on a broad variety of computers...i know vista works on most computers... just not all....i spent well over 15 hours (not the same call) with MS customer support and they finally said that i should just wait for drivers for vista to come out cuz they could not fix the problem and that alot of people with similare setups to mine were having the same problems, granted this was about 6-8 months ago. so im sure they have had fixes.... but im still too frustrated to try to put it back on my computer... prolly wait till september... lol
Why you are buying 64bit Vista ???
Buy 32 bit Vista
If you are not doing rendering things 32 bit is good for your.
For get to best perfomence with 64 bit you need atleast 4 GB RAM.A Quad Core also nice.
LahiruD
Also, 32bit doesn't supports 4gb's..
Depending on your Vram you could be only using up to 3.25gb's of your 4gb's:x
No driver issues at all here. MadExponent
Yep, running Vista 64-bit here without any issues either. My laptop is running Vista Home Premium 32-bit on it, everything it can do/run my desktop can run better, I see NO advantage with 32-bit :D
If you are interested in maxing out your 3DMark scores to the last drop, stick with XP, but the difference with Vista isn't enough to be noticeable.
