GTA4. bad port or not...it still needs loads of juice to max out (im not sure if any PC hardware curently available can do it yet). empire total war is also alot more demanding than i initally thought. initally i was runnig the game almost maxed out and it seemed fine...but then i got into a big scrap and in chugged quite a bit when 3-4 thousand units were on the screen. now i run it at high-ish with shadows off and no AA or AF. however it still chuggs quite a bit with lots of units on the screen...so i suspect i either dont have enough ram or my CPU is the bottleneck.osan0
Have you got the lattest patch? They multithreaded it which heavily increased performance.

oh aye....i cant really say whether it provided any benefit as i have never played empire without the patch (i only got it a few days ago).[QUOTE="osan0"]GTA4. bad port or not...it still needs loads of juice to max out (im not sure if any PC hardware curently available can do it yet). empire total war is also alot more demanding than i initally thought. initally i was runnig the game almost maxed out and it seemed fine...but then i got into a big scrap and in chugged quite a bit when 3-4 thousand units were on the screen. now i run it at high-ish with shadows off and no AA or AF. however it still chuggs quite a bit with lots of units on the screen...so i suspect i either dont have enough ram or my CPU is the bottleneck.Vaultn00b

when did that came out? i Havent touched the game for a while and i disabled the rockstar social club start on startup option.... what you mean multithreaded?[QUOTE="Vaultn00b"][QUOTE="osan0"]GTA4. bad port or not...it still needs loads of juice to max out (im not sure if any PC hardware curently available can do it yet). empire total war is also alot more demanding than i initally thought. initally i was runnig the game almost maxed out and it seemed fine...but then i got into a big scrap and in chugged quite a bit when 3-4 thousand units were on the screen. now i run it at high-ish with shadows off and no AA or AF. however it still chuggs quite a bit with lots of units on the screen...so i suspect i either dont have enough ram or my CPU is the bottleneck.dakan45

CA released a patch that made the engine use as many CPU coes/threads as you can throw at it basically.[QUOTE="555SSOO"]almost everyone can max crysis right now... there are much more demanding game than crysis... ArmA 2 is the only game that is DEFINITELY more demanding than Crysis.GTAIV and Crysis.

[QUOTE="dakan45"][QUOTE="555SSOO"]almost everyone can max crysis right now... there are much more demanding game than crysis... yeah, thats what I thought No...Not even close. Considering the vast majority of people (who build their own PCs) are probably still rolling with 8000 series cards or equivalent (I'd be willing to wager 80% of PC owners on the market right now don't even have that) not many people can max Crysis, maybe most from elite PC forums but the vast majority cannot. There aren't too many games out right now more demanding than Crysis (Arma2, FSX, GTA4) but it's silly to assume that almost everyone can max Crysis.GTAIV and Crysis.

I've just built a pc recently, and inevitably all i seem to do is try to find a game which is gonna make the rig brake a sweat. I cannot play crysis without thinking maybe I've wasted a lot of cash when there isn't a game that actually needs that much. Please do not take this as arrogance, because I actually feel pretty stupid, knowing I could have spent a lot less for the same results. Anyway, I'd be happy to read your suggestions.dforeignerPretty much any Ubisoft game since 2007, Crysis, GTA 4. That's it. Oh yeah, RE5 in 3-D mode... and any game with an ENB series mod.
FSX is the most demanding still. Go buy it, run it on max with everything (bloom, traffic, buildings, etc...) and the most power full computer in the world will crumble.LTZH
Agreed. Nothing is more demanding on a machine then FlightSim X. If you think we are wrong buy it and try cranking it up too full graphics......and Good Luck!! :)
