I just picked it up and installed it.
I did a quick windows test and it graded my cpu and when it did I saw one core go as high as 65c. I did a search but got so many different answers I thought I would just come here and get your opinion.

I ran prime95 and these were my high temps.
core0: 70c
core1: 71c
core2: 72c
core3: 67c
package: 75c

yes, is it too high?

if its too hot youll know because your pc will shut itself down to save it from dying.
if it doesnt do that and you dont get problems playing games, then its fine.
dude i wouldn'tworry my 3 year old laptop gets up to 95c while playing skyrim and day z on lowest settings and it has not crashed blue screened or slowed(too much :P) since i got it plus i sometimes play for extended hours and the heat dosent bother it no extra cooling but the built in fan and heat pipes
