Not necessarily. The expansion campaigns are much better than the original,especially the British one.
Right now I'm enjoying DoW:Soulstorm the most, although I'd have to give the best gameplay to Company of Heroes. Here's to hoping DoW2 adopts all of the good stuff CoH did.
It was WarCraft 3 last month (cuz I had bought the WarCraft Battlechest), but now that has been dethroned by StarCraft (cuz I just bought the StarCraft Battlechest like a week ago). It's so much deeper without the heroes IMO.
Mine would be: 1) Warcraft II - classic and my first RTS 2) Starcraft - no explanation needed 3) Red Alert 2 - the most balanced RTS of both traditional C&C series. Also the only one from the Red Alert and C&C Tiberium (no Generals) series where infantry actually was a good idea lol 4) C&C Generals: Zero Hour - an expansion that totally transformed Generals into a must play 5) Total Annihilation: Kingdoms - the most underrated RTS I have ever played. Total Annihilation meets Warcraft. 6) Universe at War - I would give this a little higher, but the game has some problems yet to be patched. 7) Star Wars Empire at War - ground combat is not good, but the space combat is awesome.

i have yet to decide which to buy CoH:OF, SC:FA or SoaSE. people please help me decide. haven't yet bought these games and am planning to buy the expansions good thing they;re standalone.
