Please help!Mr_VersipellisI think its just an issue with your case fan perhaps. this has happened to me before. Many cases use sleeve bearing case fans which can get noisy over time. ball bearing fans on the other hand last much longer and will not usually cause problems.

Agreed, definitely need a new fan.

Oh sh--! I need to buy a new fan?! Whta I forgot to mention is how the sound goes away if I put the PC on sleep mode then wake it up. That fixes it. It also only happens sometimes. You need to clear dust out of your PC!
I had this issue. Noises like that are caused either due to faulty fans. Wires obstrusting the fan. Or a heavy load of dust which is not moving the fans smoothly causing a friction noise.
I've never cleared it of dust. I'll try that. You need to clear dust out of your PC!

Q-tips tend to work well; in conjunction with a vacuum cleaner hose with the finest attachment (and maybe a flashlight); you work like a dentist, cleaning teeth on all fan-blades with your Q-tip then vacuuming away dust bunnies as they are loosened.
My CPU fan gets dust-bunnied up with oily sticky dust-bunnies annually; this causes the balance of the fan (like balancing an automobile tire) to get out of whack; this causes strain on the fan bearings, causing them to whine and howl like that.
Left un-checked for too long, permanent damage to the fan bearings might occur; if it still howls and screeches after a good vacuum-dusting, then you may be forcedinto getting a new fan(s) installed (do it yourself to save money.)
