I just got Crysis, knowing that I wouldn't be able to run it anywhere near max settings, but I do meet all the requirements, and should be able to run it on low, but I'm getting so much screen-tearing and random bright spots and discoloration and trails from objects and all that that it's completely unplayable. I'm running an AMD Athlon 3200+ 2.0ghz CPU, an nVidia 7900gt GPU, and 2gb of RAM. I'm trying to run Crysis at completely low-as-it-gets settings at 800x600 resolution, and still getting all the afore-mentioned crap. I know it's not natural because my friend's computer has the same processor as mine, an ATi RX700 GPU, and 1gb of RAM, and he's running Crysis at all medium settings at 800x600 with no problems at all. Anyone have any ideas what's wrong with mine?

it could be several things, you may just need to upgrade your videocard drivers. But theres always the possibility that your card is overheating, or its just not getting enough power from your psu, crysis is very demanding even on low settings and will tax the majority of system out there so that wouldn't surprise me. First thing I would do though, is to check the temps of your system, then if thats not it, try different drivers for your videocard.

I'm pretty sure I have the latest drivers, but I'll check again. Also, I'm using a 500w PSU with my system, and I really don't know if that's enough or not. And my video card seems to be idling at 55C (131F) according to Everest, and I don't know if that's particularly bad, either. And no, I don't have Vista.
