Playing EverQuest, I was a new recruit into a high end raiding guild and we took down a boss, and a super duper ultra mega rare item that only Necromancers could use dropped (Zevfeer's Shoud of Despair). I was the only Necromancer there - all the full time guild necros were off.
Not only did I get the single best item my class could get at that point in the game's lifecycle, I got it for practically no DKP, and I got it while a recruit.
Nothing in my gaming career will ever probably compare with that moment.
Ive had a few of these moments. my first big moment was in CS 1.6 Was on the dust level (small one guys) With my cs clan. My whole CT team was dead but me of course. The T side had only my co clan leader. Well i was looking for him and at the last moment i saw him in CT spawn by the boxes, So i took my weapon and fired were i thought he was. Killed him with a headshot. Had ventrilo going with them, and the noise was insane. my second one was recently in cod4. For those of you who play COD4 you know the challenge What The? This has to be one of the hardest challanges to complete in the game.
For those who don't know this challenge this challenge, is an Elite one. What you have to do is shoot through a wall, hit a claymore on the otherside and it killing the person next to it. Sounds easy right? Well if your going to be a simple person and do it in one on ones, your nothing. The only real way to get this is by pure luck. i was lucky enough to get this challange one day on backlot. Bunch of guys were up by some stairs and i was getting shot from somewere. So i took my ak-47 and started firing were i thought they were. next thing i know the challenge What the? pops up on my screen that it was completed. *shrug* believe me or not, if i could i would screenshot this and show it for proof. But thats my moments.
Last week, I was playing Team Fortress 2 in goldrush with a minute left. We were trying desperately to complete the first part, with the cart just a few meters from the checkpoint. We suicided and charged in a last attempt, but alas, most of us were killed. We thought it was over, but when the clock reached 0, it went into overtime.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
But a player on our team got to the cart, moved it a foot, and got killed.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
Another player got to the cart and kept overtime going.
This repeated for about two minutes or so, at which point several players on our team got to the cart and captured the checkpoint.
