ok, so it's computer software not hardware, but I wanted to see how us computer gamers/nerds who know wtf we're doing with computers compare to the general population usage stats. As you probabl know IE wins out in the real world, but I'm guessing serious users are gonna side with chrome/FF, anyway answer the poll and commet as you like.

and fyi I use Chrome, used to use IE, never like Firefox.

wish we could add more answers to the polls.

When I am not working, I mostly use Aurora (which is an experiemental build of Firefox). If I need to get work done then I stick to regular Firefox.

Yeah. If anything, Safari should be with "other". Only Apple fanboys use it. Even "normal" Mac users I know use Firefox or Chrome.

Well you can only list 5 answers (one of the many things gamespot needs to change) and in real life I've come across 1 person that uses safari and 0 that use opera, so from my expereince it wins, though it's really the battle of the crap

Firefox, because it's not M$. Gave Chrome a chance, too, but I realized I had to enable "private session" or whatever it's called every time I run the program. These guys are obsessed with other people's privacy. No wait. They're not, they're obsessed with money.

I know what they mean, I'm the same. Nothing dodgy but I dont want other people knowing which sites i visit all the time.

You can get around the privacy by adding -incognito to the end of the shortcut command, but why should we have to do that! You block third party cookies, and they still get in somehow!

It's a matter of principal. They turned into a major player thanks to their internet search engine, and now they think it's theirs to decide what search results should I get based on my personal preferences. That's just not right.

Mozilla is definitely better than Google when it comes to privacy. I personally cannot run a browser backed by a advertising corporation as my main browser.

Firefox is great and there are options you can get to further increase your privacy. No-script is awesome, it increases privacy and security.

IE is much better than it used to be. If you need to get the net and don't need lots of add-ons or specializations it does great.

For the most part I have also, used IE for years..Though it is slower than the other 2 most popular browsers and it has given me problems from time to time, I still continue to use it because I have for so long.....I guess I really like the ieSpell check feature :P

I've used Opera way back when and have used FF and GC on and off over the years also, but always seem to come back to IE. I think if I were to switch over to another browser again (which I have been thinking about for a while now), it would be back to FF. I seemed to have been the most comfortable with that. GC was very fast indeed but there was just something that was a bit awkward about it to me and FF seemed a bit easier to customize to ones liking over GC.

My wife just switched back over to FF from IE on her PC. It became corrupted and was really giving her problems, so instead of un-installing IE and reinstalling it again to try and correct the problem, I just suggested that she move over to FF .... She is much happier now.

But I will still stay with IE for the time being, like the guys above me say...it does the job.

I used to use IE, then Avant Browser, then Firefox back around v1.x. Switched to Chrome pretty much right around the FF3 launch. Chrome's team seems to have a specific idea about how the browser gets used, and it happens to match up with how I do it. Chrome itself doesn't really get touched by the search guys at Google (yet) - the way that guy phrased it was that Google makes money when people use the Internet more in general, not just any specific product of theirs. Using the Internet kind of sucked in various ways with various browsers, so they wanted to launch Chrome to push forward and raise the bar to make all browsers suck less and the web in general more awesome. And per all those articles from December, 80-90% of Mozilla's funding comes direct from Google yearly anyway. :D

Firefox all the way. Firefox 3.6 to be correct. the fastest browser there is.

adblock + noscript = best browsing.

I don't see whats so great about chrome.

Internet explorer sucked in the past, no way I will go back.

Opera Mobile rules, Opera on PC is average.

Safari = lol.

Google Chrome + AdBlock and ScrewAds (Blocks Youtube Ads) extensions

idk if AdBlock blocks YT ads, but I installed the ScrewAds extension before the AdBlock extension so I just kept both and I love it!

I use Chrome most of the time, used to use Firefox but had so many issues from memory leaks to crashes to slowdowns. Now Chrome + Adblock Plus is the best thing ever. ^ I'll have to look at ScrewAds.

Firefox because

1. I like having a separate search bar.

2. I am really used to having a dropdown list of most visited sites instead of writing the first letter in the address bar and entering.

3. Firefox's ad-blocker is superior.

4. Chrome sometimes fails to load images on a page.

Well I have never really given IE a proper try. But the default interface doesnt seem to have search bar and I really dont like having tabs right next to the address bar, it just feels too cramped.

As I said I have never tried to see if those things can be modified so excuse me if they can be, I am just going by the default interface.

There is an option to move the tabs below the address bar. As for a seperate search bar, I don't think there is an option for that.

Do explain. And any issues with 4.0 have been fixed.
