Was planning on getting a 570 when I heard that the 660 is somewhere around the corner. I think i will just wait for the 660. Any news on when its gonna be available?
P.S= Any news on the performance of that thing would be good words too.
Any help?

~300 bucks, 1st half of august and inferior to hd 7950 but better than 7870 (at stock) or this is nvidia's target anyway however before this month is over amd will have an hd 7950 ghz edition, hd 7930 and hd 7990 to muddle things up so its tough call to make atm if i would wait as a gtx 580 will @ minimum match a gtx 660Was planning on getting a 570 when I heard that the 660 is somewhere around the corner. More vram is always useful, people used to say 512mb vram is all we need for 1080p gaming, look where we're at now, 2gb is almost standard. Also you're belief that AMD drivers are terrible is misinformed. AMD video cards will play most games perfectly, only a few will have issues but fixes are constantly updated. If I were you, I would only look for what is the better bang for your buck.

yea the gtx 260 (the 1st card to have uneven ram amounts over 768mb specifical 1.5gb) does pretty lousy @ 1080p vs a 6770 or 7770 2gb~300 bucks, 1st half of august and inferior to hd 7950 but better than 7870 (at stock) or this is nvidia's target anyway however before this month is over amd will have an hd 7950 ghz edition, hd 7930 and hd 7990 to muddle things up so its tough call to make atm if i would wait as a gtx 580 will @ minimum match a gtx 660[QUOTE="ionusX"]

But isnt that because of the the textures of a particular game? One wouldnt benefit by using a 1 gig card instead of 512mb to play mario because at even 2560*1600 512 mb is more than sufficient enough to store all the texture thingy...... So it all boils down to the texture heaviness of a game doesn't it?[QUOTE="Codepix"][QUOTE="ionusX"] ~300 bucks, 1st half of august and inferior to hd 7950 but better than 7870 (at stock) or this is nvidia's target anyway however before this month is over amd will have an hd 7950 ghz edition, hd 7930 and hd 7990 to muddle things up so its tough call to make atm if i would wait as a gtx 580 will @ minimum match a gtx 660

Pixels need to be generated to fill your screen at the resolution of those screens.
